Confidence, Leggings of Devotion

This is a request to add more classes to the legs that drop off of Ulaz. I have a few reasons that I think they should be made multi class or at least include rangers.

Rangers get no good legs in the high end game besides the ones in COD, which are only good for the attack. Most high end rangers end up using combine just because there are no alternatives. If the legs were meant to be beast monk I would understand, but the fact that they give rogues a choice after combine but leave rangers wanting makes me question it.

For Reference-

AC 35
STR 17 DEX 15 AGI 10 HP 195 MANA 160
SV Disease/magic/poison 12
Stun Resist +5 Crit Strike + 3
Monk Rogue Beastlord

I agree and I believe even the argument that rangers get too many IP items does not measure up to the unbalance in the choices of legs we get. I use combine over COD legs by choice, and as wold said the fact that they have rogue on them makes me question what was intended for them. I think these would balance the end game legging choices for rangers nicely.

AoA legs are definately better than Combine as an upgrade for rangers along with Cmal 4.1 legs, and of course Thaz armor. Monks are limited to either Combine, Confidence, AoA legs or Thaz realistically due to the weight of CoD legs.

Cmal 4.1 are hardly accessible by rangers with the class restrictions needed to get anywhere in there, and AoA legs are hardly an upgrade from combine if you have any haste item from sepulcher and up. The stats are hardly better, and with the haste being the only bonus I don't see them being considered a great alternative to combine legs.

Cmal 4.1 legs should be accessible by a ranger, just have him out of group in a raid and you can loot them if it drops.

Wrong. AoA legs are far superior to combine legs even without haste on them.

getting a tad offtopic although the original sentiment made by jun was on topic.

I had forgotten about AoA legs as a alternative to combine. I consider them the same quality as the COD legs, but not quit up to the grade of the Ulaz legs. It doesnt deter me from thinking that the Ulaz legs really should have ranger on them.

AoA legs are nice for the pure stats. Combine are nice for the clicky.

Im pretty sure this :

was frowned upon but I might be mistaken. Cmal 4-1 legs also arent all that great for rangers. They offer nothing that the alternatives offer in terms of resist and effects (whether it be haste or atk or a nice clicky) and thats what really counts for rangers, as they are dps machines now and shouldnt be maxxing hp/ac.

Since we're on topic of giving "insert class" access to "insert item" because there are very few options lets talk about monk arms at the thaz / IP level of the game. I'd do just about anything for a set of ulaz vambs or even 60ac plate legs from cmal 4-1 hell or even have a chest piece that comes from prison for a leather class (plate, chain, int casters all get one)... these are a couple of examples I've used out of brainstorming for a few seconds, I could carry on with the list. Simply because there's "one" slot AT THIS STAGE OF THE GAME where other melee dps / utility have more options than rangers do is hardly a reason to make this item ranger usable.

Every class goes through a tier where they've got a weak slot that they cannot upgrade where other classes associated with them ( monks / rangers rogues.. wiz / mage / nec... clr / dru / shm etc etc ) have a clear cut better choice.

There seems to be a trend where if there is a weak slot for your class at a certain level of the game that there is a clear upgrade at the next level for you. It's pretty much impossible for an entire guild to get an upgrade for every slot for every member at each "stage" of the raiding game. You've went.. basically one tier? (combine ** and cod legs ** are basically at the taeshlin tier, if you're getting combine / cod kills you're going to be IP enabled very quickly) since rangers got their last upgrade and you're asking for another upgrade already? If it were multiple tiers that you had the item.. then I could understand your request, but in this case it seems like a bit of an unreasonable and unrealistic request.

I'm not trying to derail the thread, but opening up the can of worms that is 'which classes get access to which items' goes much deeper than "rangers arent on ulaz legs, they get few options.. HELP."

I really didnt mean for this thread to started all the shit throwing it has (here and happyland.)

basically my argument was that the legs allow all the DPS classes besides a ranger to move up a tier in their uber pant selection, and that this is a bit unfair to said rangers. Also the fact that it only has 3 classes on it makes the item less desirable even though it has stats on it that other classes would like.

Now that last sentence I said there can be used in a lot of completely bullshit arguments, because in essence it can be used with anything. In this case tho, I feel that given the selection of other pants dropped and a rangers role as rogue-esque DPS that it is warranted to add them as a class.

As to zhaks diatribe, I agree that there are multiple examples that most likely outweigh the ulaz pants having one class added onto them. This thread was made for the sole purpose of proposing that rangers be added to a specific item at the endgame. Once a yes or a no is stated, I dont think anyone would mind someone making a post about the other (most likely more extreme) examples of what you stated.

Well.. when u guys say CoD legs, AoA, please refer to them with the stats and stuff..
mid end rangers dont have acces do CoD or anything better should know what to expect :D

And well let me say what legs waiting for me:

Ornate
Imp Hide Legings
Crystaline Chain Leggings
Deepmetal Chain Leggings

are all i know off :(

While it would be nice to have rangers on those legs, I don't think it's that big a deal, tbh. With the changes to archery, rangers should be orienting more towards dps and less towards tanking. I wore combine legs for a very long time until recently getting the CoD ones. Given the choice, I would choose the CoD ones over the Ulaz leggings (if they had RNG on them). It's very difficult to get quality pieces of gear with decent +atk mods.

Jose, just because a class can use an item doesn't make it a good choice. Rangers ARE listed on a lot of IP loot, but so are the other hybrids.

And Zhak makes an excellent point about the lack of a leather bp in Prison. IMO, that's something that should be remedied asap.

I agree that dps is important, especially with the new archery changes, but I still believe that given the classes on these legs and the menial selection of legs rangers can use these legs would nicely balance out our end game choice of legs.
