Complaints and Grievances

Just a few things I've found to be ridiculously irritating, thus prompting my bringing them up to bitch about =P.

1) The fact that Sihala's Stalwart Shield over-rides the ranger spell "Warder's Protection". My problem doesn't stim from the fact that there are spells that over-ride eachother, simply from irritation that spells which are not even remotely similar cancel eachother out...... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

2) The Ranger stance "Whirling Strikes" is just bad. It drains stamina, and is (in my opinion) totally worthless at 65. The problem lies in the fact that it makes double attack and dualwield succeed every time, that's great except for the fact there are 2 AAs, they are called Ambidexterity and melee mastery. These two AAs accomplish the same thing. This makes me wonder if perhaps there is some deeper meaning to this mystery? It is my conclusion that gnomes were involved in the developing of this stance, as they were jealous of the rangers ass-kickery, and in general kind of POed at being punted all the time.

Rangers are the new Beastlords :toot:

You get this stance at level 35. AAs, not before 51, and most people don't really bother with them before 65. So essentially this style gives you unfailable double attacks 30 levels and some AAs earlyer then you have it with AAs.
Mind you, not everything has to be usefull at all times, and I personally can't see what is wron with one sytle out of 8 getting obsolete at some point.

Warder's Protection kind of sucks after 65. If I need to have something along those lines up, I use Call of the Mound. Nothing overwrites CotM. However, it's pretty gnarly aggro. So watch yourself when you use it.

There's nothing wrong with whirling strikes. Nothing at all. I still use it because I like the stance message. By the way, Melee Mastery only makes dual wield never fail with the primary, not with the secondary. So you do get some benefit of this stance, which seems to last about as long as the dps stance my buddy told me to use when I was botting his toon because I get horrible satellite delay and someone has to kite and I can't kite because of lag or else everyone will die and blow up but it's ok to be on the rogue because who cares if you're lagged on a rogue you can just autoattack and not worry about everyone crying because you weren't running around taking their death near the end of the zone so you really should stop complaining about how bad this stance is. (This run-on sentence brought to you by the memory of the Exxon Valdez.)

If any stance needs to be changed, it's that horrid "flurry of shots" stance. That's a worthless one for sure.

You do realize that Warder's prot and CoTM are completely different spells right? CoTM is a proc buff. Warder's prot is a DS/AC/HP booster

We are of differing opinions on the matter =P. Not that my opinion really matters in the case of game content =). I feel that 75 hp 12 DS and 45 armor self only is considerably different then a 330 hp groupwide buff. I consider them similar much in the same way I consider Aego and focus the same, which is remotely =), but this is merely my opinion.

I'm actually not even saying that this isn't the way it was intended, I just feel it's a bit odd.

Man if you're full buffed, you're not going to have room for warder's protection anyways. sv, raego, rfocus, reotw, reot, jb, emp, ancient regen, ds (take your pick), combine clicky, bow proc, SoS, cotp, svgry, gog...oh crap, I'm out of room, where do I put GoG or Guardian?

CotM is definately superior to Warder's Protection btw. It combines your melee proc buff and your defensive buff in one. It may not provide as much hp/ac/ds as just WP, but it does stun the mobs - something that I find invaluable in both holding aggro and reducing damage on me. A mob turned to the side with a dazed expression is a mob that's not hitting you.

As far as comparing Warder's Protection to SSS or SV, it really depends on what you're going for. If you want more DS, go with WP. If you want more hp, go with SSS. If you want more DPS, go with SV. Not only does WP have a short recast time, but it's also easy to click off buffs that are blocking it.

What rangers really need is 24 buff slots and the ability to cast Vandathian Aego on ourselves. Or heck, just set the HP on WP to the same as Vandathian Aego, that way I can get raego too and be like "WHO WANTS A RANGER TANK?!?" Oh wait....nevermind...then I'd have to reaug AC. (Obviously I fail for auging hp as a ranger.)

This man is obviously the most brilliant person to ever grace the universe, and all the ideas in this post should be acted upon immediately! =P. Why can't you just let me whine in peace damn you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Besides, I just said it was annoying, not that I even particularly cared if it was changed. But the gnomes, yes the gnomes must die. It's all their fault you know? They are responsible for the yellow in cheese, they made the moon blue. They stole the cake............ We must stop them........
