Companion Rites 1

The tome reads "This codex gives your companion the ability to heal to full instead of dieing. Your companion is unable to attack for 12 seconds after being saved." After 8+ months of having completed this tome I have only ever seen it work once? I believe you guys forgot to put a % chance instead of a complete death save? I was wondering what the %'s were, and if you could possibly look into them because it seems like a 1% chance at death save which is pretty meh for the amount of AA's / Time it takes to complete this.

Thanks for reading!

Bump still trying to get a confirmation on what % each rank is supposed to give. Or just add it in the description of the tome.

15% per rank seems pretty high to me. Not sure if I would consider this useless/terrible compared to some of the other class tomes (Tool of the Divine and Servant Training come to mind).

Good point, Ill wait till they fix the really broken ones to bring this up, but I feel like we could use something involving paragon as opposed to some meh pet tome.

Let me just say I had the tome done for over a year, and only saw it work once. It's a horrible idea/concept involving ikisith especially when you get a runic 2 pet.

How is free death save/full heal bad in any way? I am failing to grasp this please assist me.

Yeah, once you have the class 4 done, your pet always has a 60% chance to survive and get a complete heal? That seems very good to me.

We heal our pet. It doesn't die, so why waste a class tome on it? I don't let my pet die, I save it. cause as a bst, it's how I have learned to play, I could see this being useful in rare circumstances, but I really think a tome revolving around Paragon and updating it's usefulness, would be the way to go.

how often do you see a beast pet die and not the master soon after?

i havent played in a while and never did the tome, but the only time it would of been useful for me was on a few raids with big AoEs that regular group heals couldn't keep him up.

Being a healer, I can agree with Kjiel. I mean, by the time you are on tier to hit class3/4 version of this tome, It doesnt even matter. Runic 2 pets actually manage to stay alive fairly well. So it does seem kind of redundant to make tomes that will save your pet from dying, when the bst would almost be dead in any situation where it would fire.

At the same time, I don't think paragon is a good place to focus on tomes. Paragon serves its purpose. A little boost to mana for some casters, who need it at a lower tier. Again though, when you reach the tier where you would be able to obtain class 3 or 4s, mana isn't a huge deal anymore, and fights depend more on executing strats over being able to hold out on mana forever (which is good, in a progression scheme, get gear, then when mana becomes high enough, make fights become a whole new level of hard), I feel like a paragon upgrading tome is again kind of pointless.

Instead, what I would propose is a tome that increases the effects of cunning by 1 or 2% per level. Both the damage inc and aggro reduction. So we're talking 1% for 4-5 casters, up to 4% for 4-5 casters in the current end game. Feels like in the end, this balances out to be a worthwhile tome to do.

Everyone who posted and doesn't play a bst is completely retarded. You can easily keep your normal pet up and the runic 2 pet has godly hp and has never died before myself. I don't really care bc I don't play anymore but some of the tome ideas are stupid and bsts always got overlooked bc no one plays them and they just shove the class to the side.

Can you make pets get stronger when they are hit by spells such as the riverkeeper in plane of earth.

Its working, a bit better then I think was intended, I am about 40% into Frenzied Companion 1 and when in combat every spell (dot/petswarm/nuke) triggers the pet to ramp/frenzie and so on from what I have seen this morning.... It feels a bit more then the 15% the text says. =)

*edit*
I like this tome btw! <3 (The class tomes was lowest priority on my to do list before you changed it Zae, now I have to hurry up and complete this one.)

ugh, I didn't see anyone in this thread complaining about the pet crit tome, I liked it the way it was, can i please get an explanation on the new one in depth since I have no tome to actually read?

Empathic Warder - Increases your pet ability to land critical hits as you take damage, and shareing a portion of any direct healing your pet recieves with you.

Frenzied Companion - As you expend mana in the heat of combat your pet will become enraged, enabling it to perform flurries, scoring two extra attacks. This chance increases as you expend greater amounts of mana and decays over time.

Thoose are the effects from the tomes now, it sounds nice and I really like the Frenzied as I said before.
