Comp reboots itself while playing.

I use to be able to 2box before, but now when I try this is what happens.

I can load both chars in the game, they can play fine, UNTIL I bring both chars in the same zone. when I bring both chars in the same zone with a min or 2 my comp reboots it self.

Using a p4 3.2, 2 Gig ram, NVIDIA GeForce FX 5600 256MB. Wndows XP Pro

As I said it use to work, but then this started happening. Mind you this started about 1 year ago. Just haven't bothered trying to Box, but now I wantt to.

Any ideas?

Usually system reboots are the result of overheating or a power issue. This does not seem to be the case though as it only happens when both characters are in the same zone.

You need to check your event log to see if any errors are being reported.

Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Event Viewer

The system log should have something about it.
 
Run EQPlayNice because it's most likely an overheating issue. The game is a hog when you let it run wild.

Probably unrelated, but are those characters on separate accounts?
 
I'm at work, so I will have to wait till I get home, to check the log.

My chars are on different accounts.

I do run EQplaynice, doesn't help
 
I would have tried running without eqpn first :p But if turning off the sound fixes the lag, then the hell with it. :keke:
 
ya know i have had the same problem with this and other MMO games. just randomly (well after awhile it gets to be around the same areas ) my comp will just reboot. i kinda thought it was because maybe my graphics card couldn't handle the graphics, so i made everything low, and it still does it from time to time. i guess after reading this i figure it could be over heating, especially because its on a laptop and i play with it on my lap. i also two box a lot... so if this were the case is there any solution, short of sitting it on a block of ice while i play? (kidding of course). but yeah, it did it on EQ live and WoW... so any kinda suggestion would be great =)
