"/cmd bind" doesn't always work

We had used "/cmd bind", then died and went back several bind locations instead of to our last one. Tried it again in various zones (Stingers, North & South Newport), and we would get the "You have been bound to this spot" message, but if we immediately also do a /charinfo the bind info didn't update. Sometimes (half the time) it would update when you zone. Doing a "/cmd save" doesn't fix the problem. Crashing makes it forget the new bind location.

Whatever is listed in your /charinfo is where you go when you die or gate.

So, check your bind locations to make sure they are what you expect.

Did you have yourself targetted? GMs can target bind people, but it may be that you're attempting (but failing due to not being a GM) to bind someone else rather than yourself. Just a thought.

Interesting point regarding who is targetted. I tried again to see if it had an impact, did a /cmd bind with :

* no target selected
* myself targetted
* someone else targetted

and all failed to bind me properly. I was left bound in the previous zone.

I didn't think /charinfo updates until you zone, so not sure if that's a definitive way to test it.

I've had this happen once a few times in a row but then shortly after it started happening the servers came down or there was a patch and I've never experienced it since.

We weren't in combat when this happened (it errors out when you have agro). The point is it says the bind held. when it didn't.

Casting gate takes you to the previous bind, not the one it just said was the current one.

One time we zoned and died, and went back to the previous bind point even though it clearly said we were bound outside the dungeon. Thats what made us start watching the bind information more closely.
