cm refresh

Only if Platinum Donators could get something besides that and the clickies i would become one. dam right

You mean get something like, oh i dont know.. a server to play on? Donator items are a reward, a "thank you", not an incentive, and we dont want to entice people to donate by giving out planar loot or platinum or whatever it is that you have in mind that would "sweeten the deal" to become a donator.

Iae it has nothing to do with feeling threatened and cancelling donations. Its the fact that its a reward for being a donator, so why would we use it as a refresh zone when there are other alternatives?

The idea was to improve the performance of the refresh command, I guess Iae (and I) didn't really see what that had to do with donations.

If the zone can't change and the problem is related to what the client has to render on zone in could the point inside the nexus that you port to be move to inside a small room or something? would that even help?

There is a temporary solution. And that would be the catbox inside Runney-Eye Citadel. It's the only vanilla EQ zone that isnt currently in use on SoD that isn't a plane.

This would obv have to be changed if a dev ever wanted to pick up this zone though.

Windcatcher has released a tool that can create new zones. Open Zone

Soooo openzone has been out for a while ngl. Few questions.

1) Compatible with software version running on the server? If no disregard all others.
2) Would there be an actual legality issue involved with creating new zones with different names as by adding an S3D and various other files that were completely scratch created you would not *technically* be modifying the client really in any particular way. You would be adding files to the directory, files that were yours, rather than modifying existing ones. More like an sdk? Am I somewhere on mark with that? Or no?

OpenZone exports S3D files compatible with the titanium client and a map file used by the server. I don't know if the map file is compatible with the SoD server, but it doesn't really matter. If your zone was just a box at the same loc as the spot you zone in to Nexus the server's map file wouldn't really come into play - the server's map file is just used for line of sight checking and cheater checking anyway (not an issue when refreshing).

I can't see how there would be any legal issue.

Neither really can I, but doesn't mean there has to necessarily be one either. One of the general downfalls of the legal system is large corporations can pretty much just sue you completely bankrupt even if you win. Which is really why underground stuff generally goes deep for a bit then pops back up when C&D's fly, rather than take the possible heat.
