Cleric Piercing

Is it possible in the future that Clerics might get a piercing skill?

Several new piercers are Cleric usable, but alas the weapons rarely proc or land any sort of damage due to clerics lacking a piercing skill.
 
Use your summoned hammer, it's superior to any of these new weapons when it comes to DPS anyways.
 
It's a commin thing in RPGs to have clerics limited to pretty much blunt weaps. The restriction is often lifted by like pledging to an evil deity that doesn't care about this , like yeah I would see a Sivyana cleric proficient in piercing - but it would be very tough to translate into game mechanics, maybe with a deity tome (omg what did I say ?)
 
Just because that one dagger is cleric usable and has a nice proc doesn't mean they should get piercing. Get 400 AAs and then we'll listen to you complain about all the free gear you are getting dumped on you.
 
"Hey I have this cool sowrd, but it will never proc for me cause Wizards don't have 1hs skill. Can this be looked into plx?"

Am I doing it right?

It isn't the only one there is, I've seen others.

Not looking at them necessarily from a damage aspect, some of those caster piercers have neat procs (canni, etc), but its hard to proc if you don't land any hits (don't know if the weapon has to actually land in order to proc).

Not a big deal, just thought it was curious enough to post.

You can always wait for those awesome endgame weapons, but in the meantime, gotta use the other interesting weapons found in dalaya. One of the more interesting weapons I've found is a caster piercer with a canni proc.

I've forgotten if shamans get piercing or not, perhaps certain procable weapons are oriented towards a specific class that can use it?

There is also a 2hs weapon for SHD/NEC called the Rotbringer. Sure, Necros can equip it, but they do not skill up 2hs. I think the developers did that for a reason, to allow you to use it for stat purposes, not as a real weapon. I could be wrong though.

If you open Clerics up to piercing, minds well open up other classes to the other weapon skills as well. Clerics/Battlepriests in most any RPG game have never really had access to piercers(except WoW...lol).
