cleric hp buffage (60+)

can someone please explain to me... why clerics don't get a better upgrade at 60 to hero + symbol?

i was all excited to get my cleric to 60... and i was sooo disappointed that marzin's didn't stack with aego. or at least give us a new symbol that's less, that does stack? i know why it's there... but what about those of us who don't raid? that like to spend time in small groups exping.

hero + marzin (single) = 1100 hp.

aego = 1150.

i'm not asking for sarcasm please, if this has been discussed before... i haven't read it. i did a search and found nothing... so i am the one that's missing something here. some enlightenment would be nice.

also, i'm just talking hp... not ac.

Aego is huge in that it cuts 3 buff slots down to 1. I 2-box a paladin and shaman. Before I got EOTW and mammoth, doing a full buff (not including resists, mind you) would fill up all of my buff slots--plus one spell I couldn't use on my pally, because of his self proc buff.

That is one of the primary functions. There is also duration. I can't wait to get EOT for my shaman for the same reason: duration!!! No more refreshing talisman of the mammoth every 30 mins; instead, I can cast EOT every 3 hours or whatever it is.

Agreed, Aego isn't a huge hp increase... but it is a big AC improvement and it uses only one slot, with a great duration. Also, there's Relic: Gift of Aegolism, which is a substantial upgrade.

Gift of Aegolism is just 100 extra HP or so, actually.

What about those of you who don't raid and like to spend time in small groups? Well, you too can use Aegolism! It's actually a very revolutionizing and fair idea to have everyone use the same spells, in my humble opinion.

Perhaps not a cleric improvement, but I think will be nice to have druid+ cleric or shammy HP buff stack. I really dont understand why they dont when they are not in the same line of spells. I suppose that it may be arguable whether it is overpowering, some people may dissagree. I dont think it will hurt. I'm aware that on live they used to stack then they said tanks had too much HP so Sony nerfed it, yet they released all this gear with 300+ HP and 100AC that didnt made any sense.

It is overpowering. We think it will hurt.

::hits her forehead::
so much for no sarcasm.

i know why it's there... but what about those of us who don't raid?

i wasn't asking for those of us that don't raid to get different spells or something... i was saying that i know the argument for why marzin's mark exists - it's a raid buff. yes, i know this. i wanted to know straight up why it took 6 levels to get a 50 hp upgrade.

hasrett answered my question, really. i had thought of everything but the extra slot saved with aego.

i wasn't a cleric on eq... i was a ranger/enc. i knew their buffs and which raid combos provided the best results, but it's not like i knew each upgrade they got. so when i hit 60 with porcellina here, i was disappointed with the results.

(...and i don't have anything against raiding or raiders, either. i just got sick of the end game on live.)
