Cleric gearing

My cleric is Razzo and i've been trying to deck him out completely. He has almost full DM, mana auged and plat. diamon ears/ neck. Im going to get him DM waist and shoulders, but my question is: Is mana con 4 on his arms, which in total can give me 70 mana, worth the extra stats, resists, ac and 90 mana on deepmetal arms (+augs). They also have recovery 2 but really i feel the extra hp/ ac on DM weighs on that because that is his only recovery item. and hes a cleric anyways.

I suppose it isn't that big of a difference but is mana conservation 4 really that important? Currently 4% of his mana pool is 154; should i count that in as 'raw mana' to this item? If so then it would be worth it.

Whilst i am here, I doubt i am going to raid with my rng/ bst/ brd ever and if it got to that point then i would re aug. So should i just AC aug all three? I've already done that basically for the bard. But the other two will never really break that far into 1k ac, so should i maybe aug differently?

First off, before you finish DM, you should look at DM chain stats. There are several slots (okay, almost all) that the chain stats add more wis/mana than plate.

Ideally, for a cleric, so no one has to ask which slots...

DM Chain - Belt, bracers, mantle, mask, neck, arms, legs
DM Plate - Boots, head, gloves, cloak, BP

So in actuality, upgrading to DM chain will get you 105 raw mana if you double aug mana, another 48* mana from the actual wisdom on the arms since your wis isn't maxxed. Versus max of 70 on your arms.

Mana cons can be a godsend, and I'd highly recommend knocking out some easy maps to get the face, and just replace your DM face.

Lecimka's Mask of the Lost
[MAGIC ITEM] [LORE ITEM] [NO DROP]
Slot: Face
AC: 14
Focus Effect: Mana Conservation IV
DEX: +8 WIS: +8 INT: +8 HP: +40 MANA: +40
Mind Shield: +1%
Spell Ward: +1%
WT: 3.0 Size: Medium
Class: CLR DRU SHM NEC WIZ MAG ENC
Race: ALL
Slot 1 type 5: empty

DM plate face = 105 raw mana, no wis. Lecimka's = 70 raw mana once aug'd, plus 48* for the additional WIS, and you'd still have your mana cons

DM chain would have given you 100 raw mana, and additional 36* mana from WIS since not capped

*or more, depending how you go, since your WIS isn't at 200 yet.

So, I'd go with DM chain on your arms, and do some maps to get your mana cons & more mana back.

I play a ranger ( duh ) and I will never consider anything else than resists as AUGs.

But that's just me. But at least in raids healers can concentrate on tanks because i resist most AoEs casted.

Fomelo Timothy. Those arms drop from a named in WPL. I went with those instead of DM chain myself. Granted they're mana conservation 3 and not 4, but the combination of the focus effect and the stats made them worth getting. Plus they were free. :)

That is a nice balance between the two, thanks luciferblack.

I think if my ranger ever got into raiding, he'd probably have different gear by then which i would resist aug.

I am STILL wearing those arms. Goes to show they are a good piece of equipment... but man, I am tired of them!

I didn't see your post, Kero. I didn't even think about looking at chain even though i've balanced my ranger out with chain/ imphide. That mask + chain arms ill be looking out for, for sure. Really wanna make 4k mana on him; but the HP/ Ac hes got from deepmetal has made him pretty solid too.

Lol i wonder how much money i have spent in total on my alts. Could probably have a decent charm by now on my shaman !

About your melees , if you intend to raid than yes you should get resist augs. The other ones are basically useless at the low end and the worst thing you can do in a raid is soak up (unnecessary) heals.

Sorry if this is a bad bump. But I've had a few folks ask about DM plate for clerics, and I still strongly agree that some slots are better in chain.

no flowing thought ?
no thoughtful shawl?
skillmod alteration just +5 ? Lecimka necklace has +14

and what do you want with hp/ac from deepmetal?

Can't remember the exact pieces, but it seems like there are a couple of places where SS or Imp Hide is more advantageous, at least as far as more raw mana and wisdom are concerned.

Edit: Meh, scratch that, I was doing the comparison for my Shaman, who can't wear DM plate.
