Class Tomes II

Okay but I mean what is your point. Apply your argument to the loot in the zones. Should a guild that is not doing the content that drops the loot also have an alternative(read:easier) method to obtain that loot? Sounds absurd right? Why should tomes be any different?

If you want the items from a tier of play you get to that tier, there is always going to be a guild on top and I mean they got there somehow so gather up some players and get there yourself and if you can't then you probably don't even need the tomes since they were itemized for that tier of play. That is literally reality I'm sorry.

Actually I wasn't making any argument just trying to clarify what I thought the original poster was trying to say. As a result got more negative reputation.

Point I would make is that if the norm of difficulty to get into the end zone is so high that effectively only one guild has achieved it for the past 3-4 years with the exception of the brief period when Numinous competed with Twilight then maybe the norm is set too high.

Cinn to say they are obtainable by "anyone who can kill the mobs" is exactly right. The issue that was raised was exactly that; the only people who can kill CC are FWF.

This is wrong, There is nothing stopping other people from killing abyss, claw commander, ofgats or talin. It is not some insurmountable feat and there isn't even that much difficulty involved with it. If you can kill trash in yclist you are as cinn stated basically able to do everything listed there and anything said otherwise is just silly.

You get negative reactions because you as well as others bring guilds into these kind of posts when they have no relevance at all.

Honestly, your characters are plenty powerful to be doing these things; you just aren't. If you haven't managed to do these anyway, the problem is yours.

Just take a look at Cless! He's not the world's best geared or tome'd.

Finally, I note the abusive feedback, calling people names is so adult.
First of all, this is outside the realm of class 2 drop rates and where.

Cinn is exactly right. Any guild that can do Animation can do CC and Abyss. These are meant to be content that players in tot/uthaz gear can do. Ofgats is problematic but probably doable as well.

CC is not contested. He is up for days at a time. Same with Abyss. No one does Ofgats.

Btw, I guess you mean Plaps, who is Bango's T6? cleric alt. Who did a great job healing us through with some dude's won bot. I mean seriously, I want an aug so thanks for not even trying, but you all could actually do this.

I personally have no problem with allowing lower tiered players access to class 2s or even opi(plural opus?) for a large token cost. It would drive up the market price on tomes, helping redistribute wealth a bit.

Even if that is not the direction SoD is heading, I have another suggestion. With the way endgame tomes currently work, it is entirely possibly for people to put in all the time and more necessary to progress through a tier yet not get their core tomes. Some players have put in hundreds of hours raiding a zone where their desired tomes are most likely to drop and had no luck. I do realize that this kind of dumb luck is what makes the good tomes that much more desirable, but I think with a loot table that large it starts to get unreasonable.

I would just say use the refuge tokens as such:
normal tomes: 8 tokens
opus 1s: 20 tokens
opus 2s: 24 tokens
class 2: 20 tokens
class 3: 24 tokens
etc
You could potentially add an relatively easy quest here involving a few raid/6man drops to prove a character is on tier and unlock the higher tier tomes. Turn in a drop from spires bosses: unlock opus 1s, turn in CC or Ofgats head: unlock class 2s, etc.

Another way to restrict access to the higher tier tomes, as well as restricting the number of these powerful tomes that enter the world of Dalaya would be to add a Premium Refuge Token recieved for turning in a class tome 2+ or opus 1+ and trade these tokens as such:
class 2: 2 tokens
class 3: 3 tokens
opus 1: 2 tokens
opus 2: 3 tokens
etc

This is of course just a suggestion, and the current system overall has treated me well enough so far, it is more that I commiserate with my guildies who just cant seem to get any of the tomes that are really desirable for their class (or get a class tome 3/4 and have no clue when or if they will ever find the corresponding tome 2)

Edit: Also, before someone says anything about the fact that I buy tomes for tokens. That is completely unrelated to this suggestion. I said these things simply because I think they are a good idea. I buy tomes for token use so I can get 24 cold damage augs. When you have money you don't know what to do with you start doing dumb things like spending ~8k per t5 aug.

This is wrong. I am stopping other people from doing these things and I would appreciate it if you guys didn't make this encouragement strategy guide telling people that the tiers don't just suddenly stop after tot/UT.

*ignoring a lot of stuff*

It was apparently looking for the phrase "Manual of Trackmaster," someone forgot to add the "the". Fixed in as much as Trackmaster is being replaced and logistician now has the description for the new ranger tome. Trackmaster items and completion will switch to the new tome and the new functionality should be in next patch~

Will the tracking fix just be given to rangers then?

I was under the impression that the tome didn't add distance to ranger track but increase the number of mobs that could be on the track list, there was a cap to this number and it was a "bug" that let ranger track not be much better then bard/druid track. Then a ranger class tome was made to fix said bug.

If this is all incorrect then i am sorry for being misinformed.

Thanks for the change, I am very excited about these new tomes.
