Class suggestion?

Decidion

Dalayan Beginner
Hi,

My two sons and I are going to start playing as soon as I get the Anniversary Edition in the mail in a few days. One son has decided he wants to play a Druid and the other a Paladin, and I am wondering what class I should choose to complement these two.

I am leaning towards a bard, but would there be a better choice? A Monk? Beastlord? Ranger?

I'm not really the pure caster type...

Also...do all races/classes start out in the same location?

DPS and utility.. Bard or beastlord is a decent complement.

No, all races and classes do not start out in the same location.

I would say beastlord. They do quite a bit of damage, and have a lot of utility. Slows are A+. Also, you're permitted one double client per person (I believe), if you didn't know.

Double client....two boxing..... do you mean running two instances of the client on the same machine? or two machines sided by side, each with it's own client?

Also, if we all start out in different locations, is there a way we can easily get together at noob level without a high level wizard or druid porting us all to the same place?

Where does each race start? I don't see if listed anywhere on the Wiki....

Thanks :)

everyone is entitled to two-box, BUT NO MORE THAN TWO.

which means, you can run two instances on one computer.

I would suggest bard to you for all-around utility with some dps from songs/melee.

If you are leaning towards bard, thats a good choice.

Since you "can" 2 box, You might want make a bard on one and something else that fits your fancy.

Id suggest a rogue since lock pick is pretty helpful (I know bards get it but its capped at a lower tier)... Plus sneaking and stabbin is always fun

Two-boxing is either way of those (both are called two-boxing). It's just playing 2 characters from different accounts simultaneously. Just remember, 1 character max online per account at anytime, 2 characters online max per person.

There is; use the Mansion of Portals. The MoP connects Athica, Newport, Underhill, and Erudin (among many other places). The paladin will definitely be near a portal. If the druid starts in Surefall Glade, then he'll have to run to Newport. A bard or beastlord should be fine, too, if you don't pick a troll beastlord. A barbarian might have a little difficulty getting to Newport, but you can usually get help for that. Most people would suggest starting out at the Newport area if you are grouping together.

Where does each race start?

The Dream. After that, it's similar to live, except Grobb is specifically evil, Oggok is not, Kaladim and Freeport are swarming with undead, Rivervale is not an option, and Nagthilian (old Neriak) is less of an option.

Thanks Animand :)

So where would a halfling druid and a half elf bard start after the dream? I haven't played EQ since 2002 if I recall correctly :)

Druid starts in surefall. I forget where my bard started, maybe in Newport (Qeynos). Race really has nothing to do with it.

Having a main beastlord and almost main druid, I will say that if you have a beastlord, druid, tank and a bard, you will have very few limitations. That is one wicked (in a good sense) combination.
