Charisma gear

So whats up with all of the casters wearing Cha gear? Im seeing a lot of +15 cha vs FT1 charms and scratching my head. Am i missing something? Does cha affect resists for all spells? or just for vendor selling/buying? :?

I dont know about effecting vendors. I am 70 CHA and a charm of war cost me around 1800pp.

I asked someone who had 120 CHA to check it to see if I needed to raise my CHA and it only cost them a few pp less...sooo I dont think it has an effect on vendors as much as I thought it might.

Sooo its back to Crystal Caverns with me forever....boooo ;(

The amount of charisma you have directly affects the amount that you're resisted.

In other words, the more charisma you have, the less your spells will be resisted, and vice versa.

Ah thanks :) i do remember reading that now but im still a little confused about taking 15 cha over ft1 :brow:

It depends on the situation, generally. Most players have a number of sets of gear. A resistance set, a general set, a raid set, etc. For some classes, such as shamans and enchanters and the like, it's deathly important to have your slow or mez land first time, as a resistance can generally result in death. For clerics, it's a lot more important to have as much flowing thought as possible. For the other classes, mages, wizards, and what have you, I don't know, really.

I can understand that. If anyone is interested i would like some posts as to your preferences and briefly why you like the cha charm over ft1 charm if you have it or vice versa. Any input would be helpful as to how much it affects resistances. Only caster i played online was a 65 shaman and i always used malos when slowing so i hardly ever had problems with resists (except for bosses and such) but its different here i see. Thanks for the feedback so far guys!!

This is my opinion over the situation. First of all the huge difference in the charms cost. When your first starting out. say first to 20th level, You are not going to have the resources to pay the 500+pp for the FT charm. The cha charm is around 80pp. Most races start with around 70 charisma. I would suggest any caster try to get 100 charisma asap. The difference is very noticable. As you level you will find many different items that give charisma. Sleeves from Sirens Grotto, Masks from Bancak, etc.. As you find items to keep your charisma fairly high, then switch to the Flowing thought charm. If you have long periods of down time, then switch the two, but always keep your charisma up for a fight.

To put it simply, having a huge mana pool and fast mana regen will mean nothing if your spells are resisted. Less resists mean less mana used and less mana to regen.

My two coppers on the matter.
