Changed Email address, but cannot verify

I changed my email address on my 'main' account, Devon, and have not received a verification email. I've hit the resend button on the login screen a couple times over the course of the day but haven't gotten anything, so I suspect that I may have typo'd and the email may be going to an email that doesn't exist :dumb:

I have done a search on the forums and found an email address ([email protected]) but I'm not sure if it would be appropriate for me to email there, since it really isn't a password issue. I'm kinda at a loss as to what to do. I do still have access to the email I registered both accounts with, so proving its mine isn't a problem. Most likely the easiest solution would be to just undo the email change so I could do it right this time, but then I don't know if that is easy or not.

Now, because I did actually read the sticky (though I am repeating myself sometimes and I doubt much of this will help, I still would like to not have my children eaten if they existed, thank you)..

a) Where are you, as in, at which screen, in which program, etc.:
I browse and check email with Mozilla Firefox, and the page upon which I changed my email address was the "

b) What was your last action before the issue happened.
I changed the email address associated with my preferred forums account

c) Which version of Windows are you running? ME? 2000? XP? XP SP2?
Windows XP SP2

d) What is the exact(!) error message?
When I attempt to log in, there is a lovely red message that says "Your email address needs to be validated before you can login. Need another activation email?" and despite clicking the link and having another activation email sent, I have not received it.

e) Is it a consistent bug, are you able to get around it, and are you able to reproduce it at will?
I don't think it is a good idea for me to do this with both my accounts, and if it is a typo then I doubt I can reproduce the exact way I mussed it up. So, no I cannot seem to be able to get around it, and I don't know if I can reproduce the (likely user based)"error".

f) Which steps have you already taken to try and fix it? This step is in fact very important. If you do not include this, do not expect to receive help
I have repeatedly, waiting a fair bit of time ranging from 30 minutes to hours, clicked the link requesting another validation email. I have searched the forums and found nothing similar (probably because everyone else can spell their own email addresses) and also read the various help pages. I uh actually registered an email address that is the most likely typo of my actual email, and requested the verify just incase.. and that wasn't it.

g) Which router/firewall are you using, and have done anything to set it up for SoD?
None and I don't think this would have any kind of effect even if I did, but I am answering it for the sake of the children.

Please advise on how to resolve this at your soonest convenience

So uh no one has any idea of what I should do to fix this? Was I unclear about the issue or somehow rude? My verbosity can sometimes muddle communication and if either of these were the reason no one has replied, it was unintended and I apologize.

To reiterate, I am unable to receive the validation email to well, validate my forum account. The account with this issue is Devon, as obviously I can log in with this secondary account.

Should I just PM an admin and ask for help? I thought it would be rude to do that, hence the posting of a thread and subsequent public humiliation.

Halp plz, I am an idiot :dumb:

Sorry, I missed this topic, for some reason, but Jay will bend Dynak over and have him fix it, so hang on.

The forum error log was blown up by a bug in the search code - I cleared all that crap out but I need you to try resending the email again so i can get logs.

Thanks.

Sorry for you getting bent over and/or poked, Dynak (unless you liked it, then you're welcome!).

Thanks to all of you for the help, I have requested the email again so hopefully the issue can be fixeded soon :toot:

Dynak, thank you very much. What was the issue? It was some horrendous typo like gmial.com, wasn't it? I KNEW it was a typo. Sorry for the trouble, I will be sure to slow down my typing and make less glaring errors. Thank goodness for Firefox's spell check.

("fixeded" was on purpose, I swear)
