Change Instrument of Enthann

In it's current state, this proc only does 35 damage and does not proc often at all.

On live it is super powerful.

I know WR doesn't balance off of live per say, but I really think this spell should be looked at.

Paladins (in a general sense of the class in all gaming universes) are the ultimate undead destroyer. As far as it goes here, they are no better suited at fighting undead than any other class.

Sure they get the ward undead line of DD spells which are nice, but are still weaker than other classes damage-wise.

I realize there is the AA of slay undead at 60, but it doesn't really make sense that what is traditionally considered undead creatures' worst nightmare has to wait until level 60 to step into that role.

My suggestion is that the damage be increased on this proc. 264 damage like on live seems way too much for a level 30 to have. Here is my suggestion:

Perhaps this could do somewhere around 100 damage at level 30 (100 because expel undead, or whatever undead nuke you get at 30 is around that in damage) and increase in max damage with every level, capping somewhere around 130-150 at level 60?

I don't think either is too highly over-powering, considering the following:

1.) I literally fought 8 or 9 fights before I ever saw it proc.
2.) Paladins are traditionally considered undead killing machines, whereas here they are no better geared toward killing undead than any other class (save their undead only spells).

I'm sure a lot of thought went into this when setting the spell at it's current state, but I don't feel it's very effective in its current form. Please consider revamping it to make Paladins the undead slayers they traditionally are.

I'm curious as to how it procs for 264 damage on live when it doesn't exist there. :brow: Also, As well as getting Slay Undead at 60, you get Corpse Bane style, which is triple damage versus undead. These two added together make quite a powerful undead killing machine :p Until then your stuns are quite useful, and I'm sure Wiz has some decent custom spells as well XD

1.) It exists on live as "Instrument of Nife".

2.) Stuns do not work against undead.

3.) All of these skills, etc. require the paladin to be level 60. Paladins should get more available to them earlier on. Perhaps a style that makes them do 1.5 damage to undead at level 30 or 40, one that does double damage at 50, then the one at 60 that does triple damage...or something along those lines.

What I'm trying to get at is that Paladins don't essentially become effective against undead until level 60, and that's a shame because of a zone like shrouded isle where a paladin could be more effective against the undead.

I don't think they should have to wait that long, and I don't think upping the damage on this proc will make a big difference for the higher level paladins. An extra 70 or so damage as I proposed is like an extra swing in melee at best...nothing over balancing. Same goes for lower levels. It doesn't proc enough to be overly useful to begin with.

Ah, Ok. Was thinking you were probably talking about IoN, wasn't sure though. :p Also wasn't aware that stuns didn't work against undead...It would seem to me that they should, as they are using their holy powers to cast them but...Yeah  . And, yeah, I do agree that, without their stuns working against undead, they aren't all that good against undead till 60...Hopefully changing that proc will help to fix that, though. :p Play a 64 pally on live myself...So I do know a little about their er, Gimpness. XD

Stuns really shouldn't work against undead because of the following:

Stun requires a will type save

It stuns you from being able to control your bodily functions by attacking your brain's mobility sensor.

The undead have no working organs, as they are animated through necromancy.

So while it does suck as stuns are a major offensive for paladins, it is accurate.

Oh and on the Live server that I played on, the toughest guy on the whole server was a paladin. :)
