I have tried deleting all files and fresh install, ive patched and repatched all. Using windows 98, never had an issue before. Basically i can get into the log in screen..its when i click on the character that sometiems it feezes and sometimes it doesnt..and i am fine if i get into game..but crash when zoning a lot.

Sounds like you're using a real old machine. How much memory do you have?

Do a disk check on your drive. You might have bad spots on your drive or bad memory.

its a fairly new machine tbh...only couple months old, 2 gigs of ram windows 98

Why are you using windows 98? Or do I even want to know? Can 98 even access 2 gigs of ram?

Was it a fresh install of windows 98?

Check your system for viruses and such. If it worked before but suddenly stopped, that suggests some kind of issue with your machine.

Are you able to see the shardsofdalaya.com web server using Internet Explorer? The patcher uses the settings from IE.
