Can't find relic in Deepshade Pit for Jayla

I'm going insane because I cannot find this relic. I just received the Councilor Badge (3rd one) and her first task sent me to the Gorge of Deepshade to retrieve a relic/artifact for her.

I had a friend show me the spot after 3 hours of random wandering and mass slaughtering. It's supposed to be near this perfectly flat ledge on the pit floor slightly north of the hidden bridge marking on the map (east side).

Is this npc script still working? I'm just supposed to run around once I've cleared the area and the npc should pop up? We then chat and she drops/hands me the relic/artifact.

Any help would be amazing!

I know there aren't too many Jayla people out there. Let alone ones that remember doing this portion of the quest.

Umm... what? That doesn't sound right. The item you are looking for is inside a rock.

I will head back down to the pit floor and examine all the boulders. Don't suppose you could tell me if it's still an npc spawn when I get near the rock or if it'll just be a ground spawn on top of the rock.
 
I remember doing this for a mate. When you get near a rock in the middle of the valley, a npc spawns. Follow the script from there.
