Cannot log into my character Ricorish

Last night i was doing the main quest and was in Erudin. Now i was able to get to mistywoods and zone into the city. When i was done i tried to zone back out to mistywoods and got an error saying zone "Tox" not found along with this pop up.

unable to load world

everquest cannot fine the zone file tox in the directory that you are currently running everquest from. please check and make sure that you do not have more than one directory with everquest installed. if so, you may be running from the wrong directory.

Im not the savy comp girl here so i guess my question is if i was able to fo into erudin why can i not come back out now.

My husband has not touched EQ in so many years he didnt want to touch anything until there were some suggestions made by the folks here who may have experienced this very thing.

Please help.
 
Hey there. First off, which expansion of EQ are you using? Was it installed from disc or steam?
 
It was installed via the sony patcher initially. I have all expansions currently available. my husband had moved the files to an SoD folder so i could run this game. i know my original question seem like a dumb one with the obvious go check your folders BUT my husband did not want to screw anything up prior to poking around so i asked =)
 
I've seen several people with non-Titanium installations have issues with three zones: Mistwoods, Thaz, and DFS. The issue seems to be with zone files that are too new (steam installations and people using files fully updated with the sony patcher.) If you have access to older/compatible zonefiles, the ones you'll want to get: tox (obviously), bothunder, frozenshadow. Better safe than sorry.
 
They could also have issues with Freeport, Wastes, and oasis files, iirc. Though the biggest by far seems to be the Tox/Mistwoods one.
