Cannot log in WR or the Site

Hi,
My friend is having some trouble, His WR Patcher was working fine this morning but now he is getting the Username and Password error. Also he cannot connect to Wintersroar.com or the forums, It says the page cannot be displayed, yet he can log into any other website. Can anyone help please?

Since he can't log in to explain his problem we are trying to do it for him ......

Right now

1. I cant even go to the website www.wintersroar.com It says that the website doesnt exist. Its not security settings on my browser nor blocked websites. "Is my IP banned"? Have I been hacked??

2. My wr patcher once run says

Attempting to connect to Patch Server...

Error: Username/Password was not accepted for file transaction.
Please send a email to [email protected] concerning this error.


I sent an email, but no response yet. So if you guys can help me this week while im gone and petition in game to help me or send emails to those guys. I cant send em an email when i cant get on their website.

By the way I CAN GET on eq mu website, and login no problems.

If I try and use this command in stead of WR patcher this happens.


1. I run C:\EQ\eqgame.exe patchme


2. It runs, I LOGIN WITH NO PROBS to EQMU login server

3. When I click on WR server I get the 1017 error.


So Im stuck and this is the weirdest shit that ever happened to me.

Who ever heard of not being able to go to a website. Ill be back on Friday I hope you guys can help me while im gone.

I'm not quite sure what to tell him to do, any help is appreciated.

Ok a few things I noticed with my setup.

I'm running Norton Internet Security....sometimes during gameplay when I go LD, the server keeps trying to synch with my computer thus causing a warning about a trojan horse to pop up and that IP being blocked from my comp for 30 minutes. There was a way to fix that through the settings, but I forget.

If I tried to log onto EQ after I got the "trojan horse" message, I would get 1017 errors when trying to connect.

That is the only help I can provide. Hopefully that is some help to you. If he was never able to log onto the server, his IP may ban this site for some reason.
