Cannot get through Patcher: SoDBin.exe crashes.

I'm having trouble getting my Shards of Dalaya to start. I have been playing Shards of Dalaya now for several weeks without a hitch, but after the servers were down this morning I have been unable to log back in. Lemme see if I can make this as complete as possible...

I double click on the SoDPatcher and left click on "Patch and Run." The SoDPatcher gets to a seemingly random state of completion and then stops and gives me this message:

Title: "sodbin.exe"
Body: "sodbin.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."
"If you were in the middle of something, the information you were working on might be lost."

The message gives me the option to "close" and clicking on it closes down the patcher and the message at the same time. The message appears sometimes right away upon clicking "Patch and Run", sometimes in the middle of patching, and other times right before completion of patching.

I am running Windows XP.

I would classify this as a consistent bug as I am unable to get around it and all I have to do in order to recreate it is to try and start the SoDpatcher.

Here are some of the steps I have already tried to fix the problem:
I deleted Files.txt and repatched.
I redownloaded the SoDPatcher and started from scratch.
I deleted the EQW.ini file as per one of the stickies and repatched.
I even tried my ace-in-the-whole technical support fixer (I restarted my comp).

I have no idea what router/firewall I am using, but as far as I know nothing has changed with either of those things since the last time I tried to enter SoD.

I checked through the first several pages of the forums and haven't seen anything that I think will help. Have tried things that have seemed like they might help (as per above), but so far no dice. I'm planning on looking through some more after I post this thread though.

I'd be quite grateful if anyone can help fix this as my girlfriend has stolen the controller that plays Fable II and I need something to drown out the villagers cries of adoration that AREN'T for my character.
