Can anyone fill me in on the Dragonhorn/Stormkeep Armor?

Tribal

Dalayan Beginner
Ok I've recently been finding the gems for this quest, and all I've really found out is where they start and what gems are for which class, I'm a bard so I think I need Midnight Pearls.

What level do you need to be for this quest?

Do you need a certain amount of faction?

What else do you need for the quests?

Why is there different sizes of the gems?

Thanks in advance. :)

When you are non KoS to giants you can go to the 4 guys that give these quests they ar behind King Rymazz

If you are non KoS to dragons you can go to Dragonhorn and in the west side of Dragonhorn there are the 4 guy that give the quest.

Basicly you have 3 sizes of each gem for the first part
large - Needed for BreastPlate
normal - Needed for Back/ Legs/ Sleeves
shard - Needed for rest

Midnight pearl - Platemail
Gleaming pearl - Chainmail
Waterstone - Leather
Lavastone - Silk

you need 3 gems of the required size and a armor piece to make a draconic/stormforge armor piece
the armor pieces are no drop armor pieces that do nothing.
wich can be found in Zones like Sgrotto/ Dragon Necropolis/ Dragonhorn/ Stormkeep / etc.

Actually there is something else you may need to know, being "non KoS" is not enough. You need allied faction.

I'm pretty sure dubious isn't enough, though; some sort of positive faction is required. Just be sure to check by hailing the NPC before you ditch your gems--if they respond about the quest, you're good to go; if not, don't waste your precious pieces.

Ally faction is required for Dragon/Giant armor. Plate classes use midnight pearls. The type of pearl per armor piece is explained by the NPC. If he doesn't tell you, you can't do the quest.

There is no difference within the stats. The effects on the Ornate BP/Legs vary slightly between dragon and giant, but not very much.

Unless it was changed recently, there can radical differences between the stats on Stormwoven and Draconic armor. I frequently hear people claiming that there's no difference, but from my experience it just isn't the case... here's just a couple of examples:
Stormwoven Silk Sleeves: 3 cha 6 int versus Draconic Silk Sleeves and its 5 cha 6 int, Stormwoven obviously losing.
An even worse case of Stormwoven Silk armor sucking terribly versus its Draconic counterpart is Stormwoven Cloak (2 int) versus Draconic Cloak (7 int).

I've heard similar stories about the melee stats on Giant equipment being better than the Draconic counterpart, but I don't have links to prove that.

Short story though, is that unless something has changed very recently, there can be huge differences in stats on the equipment.

Bhuvan, why don't you just look at the cloak links you provided? :D

There you got the "proof" for stormwoven being more melee friendly (+5 agi vs. 0 agi)

Mongrel, Bhuvan is bringing up the point about the stats because of Prathia's quote "There is no difference within the stats." Obviously, according to his links, there is. Something is not kosher. If giant stuff is more melee friendly and draconic more caster friendly, then the stats cannot be equal (ie, no difference). And yet, there is that quote again.

I was thus informed of the differences. There SHOULDN'T be a difference, and they will be fixed when I get to it. Normal Draconic/Stormforged will have no differences shortly.
