Call of the Hero for Magician

Call of the Hero at the moment seems to operate as a wannabe res. It works only on those in group, requires more mana and stuns for 30 seconds instead of res effects. I haven't had much usage it.

Could it be altered to allow summoning of players maybe with the present guild or something similar so that a group wouldn't be required? It doesn't seem to have the use of teleporting a player from a zone entrance to a present location since usually a player zoning in is not part of group.

Or how about adding a spell that could summon an item that would return a player to his bind point. A Magician could then summon a player whenever he finishes selling or whatever.

Call of the Hero could also summon an item that could target a character in another zone when upon usage would consume a charge and teleport the player to the Magician. I'm mainly interested in the spell affecting others outside those grouping with the Magician in some fashion.

Summon Companion on the other hand is quite useful if travelling.

Could Illusion: Horse be added as a group buff to Enchanters?

Don't you think that would be a bit over-powered?

I don't think you have ever been in a predicament that required coh, for which it is very useful... I think you may misunderstand the use as well, unless it its different substantially from live. It doesnt act as a rez, you need to target the actual person (use of F keys in group), meaning they are in the same zone, and summoning them to you. Some very useful applications of this were used in sleepers and other raid zones where it took a fairly long time to clear to the 'good stuff'. A guild would clear as normal and after they are passed the junk a mage camps there. When they want to raid the area again w/o the crappy clear time, mage logs on, forms group w/ 1 person standiong at ent. entrance person invites people mage summons and person disbands, like a production line. EXTREMELY useful in those situations and others where a group of guildies come late for a raid (evac to ent w/ wizzy or dru in group, invite, summon until everyone is there, summon wiz/dru)

As far as I know... CoH isn't the same here as it is on Live. I don't believe it summons people anymore.
When did it stop doing that then? Last raid i was on CoH could still summon latecommers :p I can tell, i was the one evaccing to the ent for invites!

Oh then I'm mistaken, was told by a mage that it didn't summon anymore... guess he might not have known how to use it I guess (doesn't take a genius to know how to anyway).

I believe it was bugged at sometime where it failed to summon ppl trough walls or something... dont know. had to do with indoor zones or something?

So you're saying dickheads exploit a spell so they had to change it temporarily? It's reason like this why things like vah shir are out of SoD... Not that I want them in anyway, it's just an example.

It was changed permanently to prevent it from being used in an exploitative fashion.

If you exploited, and KNEW you were exploiting... then yes.

We didn't know it was considered exploiting. A GM came to the raid after we had killed the mob and poofed the corpse. The GM informed us that COH was not to be used for splitting after the fact. It hasn't been tried since (to the best of my knowledge) so the 30 second stun seems a bit harsh.

Never again... Not... anymore.......

It was not nessisarily exploiting.. just creative use of the spell... which is where good strategies start. It's no so obvious to call it an exploit like you would a pathing bug or something of that nature. One example is sk/necro pet pulling, exploit? maybe not, but a gm/admin would have to point it out if it were.

Yes, I believe I have heard this before ... Hitler, Stalin, and a a few recently even ...

I just wanted to make sure that the spell is still ok for use in group/raid movements and isn't considered an exploit, correct?

Wow, nice bump... for no apparent reason.

We got the same affect simply by training mobs away. Exploit or not we still by passed content to some degree. Just one method was a splot, the other wasn't I guess.

I have to pee.
