Buffs for a Mage

Essence of the Wild Agi +80, Dex +80, See Invis, HP +8 per tick

Transon's Phantasmal AC +85, HP +5 per tick

On the assumption I am not going to melee anything and that I do not need the See Invis, which is the better buff for me? (and why?)

EotW for the better regen I suppose. Really neither are worth the buff slot on a mage imo.

If the eotw is sb, eotw. If it is not, and both are available, eotw on the pet, transons on you.

However is there any information on how much damage avoidance is provided by AGI versus AC?

I doubt it, at least none as far as I'm aware of that's public. There may be some private speculation, but it would be speculation I'm not really privy to.

I suppose one could just figure out how much ac 1 point of agility gives and then use the standard ac=>hp conversion, but as for straight avoidance (and overcap agi for that matter) *shrug*

I was asking the question because (as I am sure you are aware) eotw overwrites Transon's so the line of least resistance is to go with eotw. However I realised that I was being forced to make the decision without having any data on which to base it - hence the posting.

I guess AC is "better" than AGI or tanks would be auging for AGI, but there may be diminishing returns for overcap AGI.

It would be nice to know but <shrug>

If you are getting hit, you are most likely dead anyway... Take the path of least resistance.

No matter how much AC you get, you aren't going to survive long against a raid mob if you have aggro. Hence, I figured the improved regen/stats would help survivability of those encounters than the minor ac boost.
