Brusco's Belligerent Bellow

Scumbo

Dalayan Beginner
So I know it's probably my own fault for buying a song from a smuggler, but I forked out the 13k anyway, only to find out I can't even cast it without equiping an actual instrument!
Is this intended? If so, my suggestion is that you make it usable with wind mod items, as it seems pretty useless as a song otherwise - maybe tone down the damage a little and just have it as a natural upgrade to overbearing bellow?

What are your thoughts?

A 10 second stun will save your group's healer or slow down a bad pull. This song is good because it's powerful in the most dangerous situations, and its best for bards who think more active should yield more rewards.

Ok, fair enough - I didn't know about the 10 second stun portion of the song, that might come in handy at some point...

But to be honest, If I'm planning to save my group, or slow down a pull, I'll generally opt for a mez of some description. At least that way I wont have to scramble to swap out my weapons.

It just seems like 13k is a bit much to pay for something that'll probably never get used, active or not.

a 5 second stun with the same cast is just as likely to save your healer and doesn't require all the hassle of swapping in an instrument, and doesn't chew through mana like a dirty hooker.

Ah, well that's understandable I suppose - Personally, I've always favoured the idea of giving instruments a damage/delay ratio!

Is it possible to create true instruments (that are subject to the new AAs/songs requiring an instrument be equiped) that can be off-handed with a weapon in primary or are there current limitations on that?

Exactly Cyzaine, except instead of using your traditional weapon graphics, you could be spanking monsters with your lute, or shanking rough customers with your flute! Like a real man.

The only problem with switching in instruments is that you spend so much time not doing anything else. It's more fun to be smacking things in the meantime, which could work with damage delay on instruments even if the ratios weren't good, or if attacking was based more on instruments procs. That might make it more feasible to swap between instruments instead of swapping instruments and weapons.

I think for something to be considered a true instrument right now it has to take up both hands amongst other weird requirements (I imagine this also prevents them from being given a damage and delay). Stuff like say Coda which can be off-handed is actually a shield or something and doesn't fit the bill for any instrument related restrictions. I'd be happy with just being able to main-hand or off-hand an instrument and have the boost in mod be balanced by the loss of melee dps.

If only switching instruments was easier / automatic instruments would find a lot more use.. it's so very annoying to switch instruments =\ .. that's why nobody likes to use them

What if there were bard instrument commands? Maybe use commands to select your preferred instrument of different types.. like for instance /cm selectinstrument while u have an instrument on your cursor and it becomes your selected instrument for that song type .. and then maybe /cm windtoggle or /cm brasstoggle .. for instance to automatically switch between your equipped weapons and your instruments.

Maybe even have a 1 or 2 sec delay to prevent people from just swapping while swinging .. really the problem isn't the time it takes to put the instruments on but the fact you have to actually muddle through your inventory to swap 2 weapons to your with your instrument

Just a thought...

With a 3.0 mod flute this spell is doing 5935dmg atm, so just under 12k crits with a 2sec cast time..
thats pretty nice. At 7k mana Iam able to cast it 7-8 times without buffs.
Because of the high mana cost of the spell .. wrists proc prob 80% of the time. This all opens up nice options for bard gears.
I'd like to see some bard useable gloves with proc's thou. Bards should have been on Silence =/

I personally liked the self haste we got b4 cause it had mad Charisma on it which was very nice while duo'in. But this spell def has its uses as well.

If you are having troubles switching your instruments.. i suggest looking into the SARS UI.
It has your weapons attached to each open bag window. Makes switching in instruments not to bad, if you leave a empty bag spot for your weapons.
