Booted back to character selection while zoning

Since I've started playing when ever I zone I usually get booted back to character selection screen. Over the weekend I was playing at a friends house and I was leeching someones unsecured wireless (i'm bad i know) and lo and behold no more disconnects. At first I thought maybe it was just using my laptop since it isn't my normal gaming machine, but when I got home and tested it the DCs were back.
This leads me to believe that it is something to do with my network/ISP. My ISP is actually a WISP (wireless ISP), but while playing the GAME I never had issues. Could this just be differences between the GAME and SoD, or is there something I should look at on my router settings for the cause of these disconnects.

So finally had a chance to do some testing.
I bypassed my router and home wireless network and still got disconnected almost every time I zone. This leads me to believe it has to be my ISP.
I have a WISP (wireless ISP) so not really sure what else I can do.

If anyone has any suggestions I'd like to hear them.

I'm on 3MBs DSL and this happens to me. I very often get 1017 errors as well. Sometimes it takes me 5+ tries to get logged in. I didn't used to as of 6-7 months ago. It's only recently that this started happening.

I have no problems playing Unreal Tournament online, but my connection to SOD is extremely flaky.

I'm not using wireless, so I doubt your problems you're having are exclusive.
 
i do believe these issues are server side.. i could be wrong but due to the massive amount of people getting the same issues i highly doubt its everyones isp. i as well get booted to char select at times. sometimes to server select. 1017s out the wazzu.... im not sure if its something they have changed but hopefully the problem is fixed. very annoying heh.
 
I've been having these ~90% disconnects on zoning ever since i started playing at the beginning of April.
Oddly enough the one time I played since the war started and population has spiked my disconnects have gone DOWN to around 50%.
I realized the other day that one part of the experiment I didn't control for was 2 boxing. So the next time I'm on I'll try 2 boxing and see if that actually helps decrease my disconnects.
I know that sounds weird and backwards, but I'll swing a dead rat over my head if it clears the DCs ;)
