boat deed?

saw one of these for sale in newport and it says (soon to work) I'm curious as to what the point of this is going to be, and what the developers thoughts are on this? I'd love to have boats, but seeing as there is only 2 oceans theres not a whole lot to explore.
 
I've seen one in Halas too. I'm sure its gonna be more of a summon a boat so you dont need to wait for one, or something of that nature. It's like eighty thousand plat though, or eight hundred thousand, I cant remember, I'm not sure many people would wanna buy it.
 
It's a status symbol, that's all. You buy one, and show it off at parties.

"Yeah, I'm probably going to take my boat out this weekend, sail down to Kunark or something."

"Oh, you have a boat? Do you have a picture?"

"No, but I have the deed right here. See? It was a good deal at 800,000pp."

*hushed whispers* "Wow, he must be the richest guy in Dalaya!"
 
if this is implemented the way i think it may be, the 80k (it's 80k, not 800) may be well worth the platinum. the way i'm thinking is that maybe you'll have the option to take the boat where ever you want it to go, but it's docked at the location you bought it. example: bind yourself at the docks where you bought the deed for 80k, gate to docks, travel anywhere there's a dock with the boat.

i'm probably wrong with how this is implemented, but the 80k would be worth it to me if it worked like this. i'm not sure otherwise, would have to have a LOT of plat sitting around and nothing better to spend it on.
 
Having a druid available to me, 80 k is just ridiculous. You're better off getting a nice charm, or two for that matter, than buying a boat deed. How many docks are there in the game? To the best of my knowledge, not that many. A lot of the content and "good" zones are still out of reach, and you're better off just taking a translocator or a coach.
