blacksmith trivial guide on wiki

Looking at the wiki for smithing, I have some confusion on some of the armour pieces.

For example, it shows small iron chain armour's trivial of 30, then medium iron chain armour at 40, then large iron chain LEGS at 50 and large iron chain CHEST at 60. No mention of legs or chest for small or medium armour (perhaps because all small and medium armour triv's at the same point no matter which piece it is?), and no mention of the other large armour pieces (helm, gorget etc).

The exact same pattern is followed for every metal. Small--> Medium--> Large legs--> Large chest.

My question is, does anyone have a more complete triv guide than what is on wiki?

If not, well, I'll try to figure it out for myself by trial and error. Still building up my ore supplies just now. At which point my question will be, can I submit data for the wiki and if so, how should I go about it?

"small", "medium" and "large" refers to the size of the pieces, not the size of characters who can wear them. IIRC, for crafted armor, any race can wear any piece.

So, hand pieces are always "small", sleeves are always "medium", cloaks are always "large", and legs and chest pieces are more or less in a category of their own.

Yes, the size of the item listed for the trivials counts for any armor piece of that size and type. Chainmail small pieces all trivial basically the same. So if you trivial for small chainmail tunic, then all small chainmail pieces, like bracers for example, would also trivial. Same for plate, etc. Shields trivial by metal type and are their own category.

Just follow the trivial guide on the wiki for skill ups first. Then, once you hit trivial for say, small chainmail, then you can make any small chainmail piece at trivial. Remeber that the metal/ore type is a factor. Just because you will trivial at small iron, doesn't mean you will trivial at small copper.

I am a blacksmith, and what I did was mine the ore I was working with until I was so encumbered I had to walk to town slowly. Then I made all the ingots for what I had. Then I banked the ingots and hit the mine a second time. Making sure I had several back packs full of ingots when I was done. So I could smith out as many items of the size I was working woth, to skill up all at once and trivial quickly. Don't worry about making full armor sets of the ore your working with until you hit trivial for large of the ore type. Just follow the trivial guide exactly and make sure you don't start making the items with your ingots until you have at least 1 full back pack or box of ingots. Making large items uses 3 or more ingots per peice.

Once you trivial at large, then make a full set of armor and it will all be at trivial.

Oh I get it :) I completely misunderstood. I thought I was going to be making small armour for my dwarf and large for my barbarian...

Thanks for the explanation, and apologies for maligning the wiki :) And thanks for the insights j0kie, I'll probably go very similar to how you did it.
