Best Grouping Dungeon for Exp/loot at 65

I say Red Sun Mines, and Eldernald's Mansion

Technically Elds is not a dungeon but a regular outside zone. And also, the very idea that it has an ok xp/loot ratio is highly amusing :p Heh.

As Nwaij said, Emberflow would probably the best dungeon out there... but only few guilds can make setups that can make it worthwhile to do in the first place... it isnt really an option for the average player that 'just turned 65'.

I haven't really recorded XP per hour in Elds, but I don't think it's too bad. It is densely packed with mobs and they don't have much HP allowing you to accumulate XP at a good rate.

yeah, it's not really so much the xp/mob as the xp/hour that needs to be considered. Heck, i sitll find UC to be a fun place to duo and half the mobs are light blue.

I am glad some people are good with numbers.

I did not recall the respawn time as I have not been there in quite some time. Obviously a one hour respawn timer will cap the speed at which you can get XP in the zone once you get to the point that you can clear it all in under an hour.

I was mainly trying to highlight the fact that the effectiveness of a zone for XP grinding should not be confused for how much XP is received per kill, or how good you need to be to effectively kill there. Factors like mob density, time per kill, and respawn rate are more important.

It really depends on your gear/class combos and AAs. I know the OP stated 65... but thiers a HUGE differeance between Tyrone's group of equaly gear toons and say a 65 with less then 10 AAs group.

Still Eldernald's have realy nice Loots, and that counts in aswell .. EC for example is very good exp, lotsa mobs but rare on nameds.

Regarding pug groups. EC is probally some of the better exp i get with my gimp monk tanking. It's prety easy to just mass pull there and keep the mobs flowing. The biggest thing about it though is with mediocre geared dps you can still clear all the orcs and have to sit for respawns. After orcs are dead you can go kill giants, whirlwinding mobs or yetis... the latter two are annoying to fight with pug melee dps, which is a dime a dozen. Giants tend to not be worth the time as they are big mana drains for an exp group.

FG is a prety rewarding zone if you just want to grind, lots of mobs and ok trash loot. There's one big thing that i dislike about FG, the fact that almost anyone that goes there always wants to do LL for a chance at the token. It's also kind of annoying to drag people around the zone who don't know their way.

For a more rewarding time, mostly with people i know, I like going to FR the most. The fact that named have a chance to pop as you kill trash is just so attractive to me. There's also a ton of named throughout the whole zone and killing any of them (aside from ghosts imo) is always worth it. To me FR never gets old /shrug

Elds actually has a 45 minute respawn and really is no good for a geared group. However, I can get nice pp/xp just duoing it that it's often a better alternative than to pug. I find it gets pretty boring here too since like everyone has done it since they have been 60+ :p. Not a bad zone to start with, but it gets old.

I've only done a little emberflow, it seemed intimidating at first. The more I go there the more I like it. Definitely wouldn't recommend trying this if you think elds is one of the better zones out there. But if you make it to the point where it's not just a crawl and get to see some of the named, it's a rewarding zone.

Thanks for your reply, i will try out emberflow, if we can manage as our group is kinda pug equiped, not raid geared.
Another question when you say FR i don't realy know witch dungeon that is?

FR = Ruins of the First City

And also, if your group as as poorly equiped as you say they are... stay away from Ember flow. FAR FAR away from it. Not in the last place because you need to get a key for it first anyway :p
