Bard song: Everybody dance now!

Would it be possible to code a song that makes everyone within the area do the dance emoticon repeatedly? It'd make for great roleplaying

Well, no, I don't think this should be something so awesome you use it all the time. As is, most of the buffs cause you to do some emote (JB makes you /gaze or /gasp in astonishment/wonder, buff X makes you cheer) and that's all well and good and awesome, but seeing it over ... and over ... and over ... throughout the battle would be annoying. And yes you COULD turn off emotions, but ...

So...what exactly is so wrong with /dance that we need to tie up a dev's time coding this? If you want to have fun, does it have to be coded, or wouldn't you rather just have fun when you want to.

And there have been enough complaints lately about bardspam. And if you turn off anims via /cmd filter, you could potentially miss some visual cue (use your imagination).

Also, already there are too many things that can happen TO you, that sometimes you may not want to. What if you don't feel like dancing and some happy-pants bard comes around annoying you. We already have rezzes that don't have a confirmation box (and you may be having Lag issues or be afk or not want the rez yet while chatting or something). We sometimes have overzealous chanters walkin around making everyone necro/frog/female/ogre/whatever, again with no confirmation box.

Let's just back away from this idea. It was just a funny thought a buddy had off-the-cuff and it's not needed.

If you wish to push for bard changes, go for Symphonies =) (I know, I know, they're coming. I am just anxious.)

Okay, okay....after symphonies, this is the first thing that should happen to bards, preferably immedietly afterwards Imagine, twisting dance with haste and resists, and raids would be sort of monty pythonesque. Imagine the possibilities! :lol:
