Bard song changing

I have a consistent problem where, if I start to sing one song, then, before the song has "pulsed", stop that song and switch to another song, it behaves as if the first song was never stopped. At the end of the "pulse" time from the start of the first song, I get the message from the first song, and if I don't stop singing (the second song), I keep getting the first song messages. It is as if I never stopped the first and started the second.

If I switch songs anytime after the first song pulses for the first time (whether right after, or several pulses after), it behaves correctly and switches to the second song.

Bards are whimsical, and change their minds about what song they want to sing frequently. :p Could this be fixed?

Thanks!

That seems to happen to me when my timing is a bit off. Maybe you're experiencing a little lag or something.
If that were the case, you could try to stop the song a little early or late.

That is indeed a bug and it has been around since before I started my bard. That's like a year ago or more =P

No solution other than waiting a half-second longer, ducking, or stopping it way earlier (about a full second or more earlier would do the trick).

It happens even if I stop the first song immediately after I start it (when the fact that the previous song was resisted makes it from my brain to my fingers :p). If ducking works, that's a great work-around! Thanks, I'll give that a try tonight.

When I started playing a bard, after a bunch of nagging in the forums, I was finally told that this problem could not be fixed, as it is client side. Apparently that means that wiz and team can't fix it without major recoding of something or another.

So good luck all you aspiring bards out there

I hadnt tryed ducking to interupt a song early, that sounds like a great idea, gonna have to try that one. Although that will take some getting used to ducking at the end of every combat to start twisting my downtime songs.

Thanks for the tip aaburog :)

Yeah, duck becomes a good friend very quickly. I duck twice out of habit after every fight. Clicking to end a song isn't reliable at all.
