Ok after having read a few of these fine threads...i am extremely confused...   :what: :what:

Is it a bannable offense to have a bard charm things? Or just in the case of getting better prices?

If  it is bannable, what about swarm kiting? i just made a bard, and am new to SoD all together, so i don't want to get banned already. if anyone could clarify it would be greatly appreciated.
 
If its not obvious or in the rules you wont get banned. The staff is reasonable around here. The worst that can happen is you will get a warning or jailed for overlooking an already written rule.
 
Although I am not familiar with threads dealing with it, I'm sure that bards charming mobs while hunting is perfectly fine.  If they're doing it to gain some sort of faction gain to decrease vendor prices, that's an obvious exploit and should be a no-brainer.

Regarding swarm kiting: once charm breaks, the mob will regain its full hp until you charm it again then it will have the same hp it had when it was last charmed.

And to cover another possible question: bard ae's only will hit 6 mobs at a time here.
 
If charming mobs were against the rule, there wouldn't have been a charm spell. So to answer your question: no, charming mobs and making them kill other mobs for experience is perfectly fine. However if you happen to come across a level 1 bunny that just happens to hit for 20k, chances are that it's bugged, and exploiting that to gain experience at an unreasonable rate would be against the rules.

I just wanted to point out with the above example, that if you find mobs that seem overpowered and trivializes experience mobs, report it to a game master, otherwise it's perfectly fine.

If it works, yeah, I imagine charming a npc vendor to get better prices would be punishable. Probably not bannable, but you wouldn't get to keep the items. Now I have to go test this to find out if it really does work :psyduck:
