Bard Charming - Level 54 max a bit low

Heya,

currently I find that charm for a Bard at Level 65 is pretty useless: Our last charm is a level 39 song with lvl 54 max charm, which rocked for as long as it worked but at 65 you rarely fight anything that you can charm still.

Correct me if i am wrong, but chanters can charm up to level 63 mobs and yes they should be alot better on that than bards for sure, but upping the max charm level a few level like up to lvl 60 or so would make it usable again in certain situations at least.

I used charm alot at lower levels, especially to support CC so that i have to keep less mobs mezzed. But this cant be done anymore now =( . Bard mezz is alot worse than chanter mezz already because you have to recast it so often to keep the mobs mezzed.

This is just my opinion and I would like to hear what others, especially other bards, have to say to this. Im sure that many will like the idea of a slightly higher level charm, and I don't think it would overpower bards in any way. Our mezz is already quite crippled compared to chanters.

Your wrong on the levels , enchanter charm goes up to 58 (so does necro's which bothers me as well) The one your thinking of (dictate probably , or control) has a long ass cooldown and only allows you to charm it for 1~min

Also i heard something about a runic bard charm , which frankly made me sad; I thought charm was one of the better enchanter abilities but its been declining in usefulness for a long time.

I dont see how your mez is crippled either, it costs 0 mana and has a nice negative modifier , for most lower end exping. The non ancient one is another case but I don't think its anywhere near as bad as people like to make it out to be.

Bard mez is fine as is. You just have to keep it on the mobs you want to mez.

I always thought bard charming was kind of dull, and especially on this server, charming is fairly lackluster. I really do not see a need to change either mez or charm for bards. We will maybe be getting a Runic spell that charms, and this will most likely just be used for some "burst" dps, or for some very expensive crowd control.

that stinks that chanter charm is only lvl 58, which means the lvl 65 chanter is basically a buff bot. I know this isnt live or anything but i believe on live you are able to charm up to lvl 64 mobs with command of druzzil. Like krigers, or basically anything in HoH, and some things in Fire and water which were tier 2 and 3 in pop.

So what does the solo chanter do at 65? basically dont solo and just be a slower as our dps is pitiful without charm.

Enchanters can do a shitload of things to increase raid dps or debuff mobs during fights. Tash, slow, cripple, giantkin, vex, curses and runes are all amazing tools that aren't available if your enchanter is a buff bot. Enchanters just aren't solo DPS machines and they aren't supposed to be.
