Bard Changes

This thread seems to be becoming an attack at Wiz's idea rather then a critisism designed to help him with the programmig. I would like to say that it is probly a touchy subject from both sides and tensions could raise. I am not trying to anger anyone with my post but add my thoughts to the thread in a way that my message will be helpful.

I think we should all remember that Wiz is trying to make the game better in his eyes and is not out to get us.


I don't mind dropping to 1 offensive spell if we can still cast more buffs while we are doing it. But I think the spells would have to change. Like
Jame said at level 60 a bard will do 123 with chant of flame. At level 60 it would seem to me that this would barely be noticed. What type of dots to rangers, and shadow knights have at that level. And what is the difference in hand to hand damage between a ranger, shadow knight and a bard? When I played on live I Didn't attack much since it took hours to get in a group and soloing while chant kiting was so quick to find a space. When I did, (Only made it to 51) I had some pretty nice stuff but no where near anything else that other had. (Never had time to look for groups so I never did any real good item quests.) I have no idea how a bard would compare at fighting at that level, but if they can't Dot, can't Nuke, Can't tank, the only thing left would be a Bot running 2 free buffs. Please keep in mind I am not an expert on bards at that high of level and I am just adding some of my concerns.
 
Big problem for me is not being able to find a use for charm anymore. Cant really charm kill mobs. Once you cast charm once, you cannot do any offensive damage, and ya keep getting the message " your target is protected from your spell" just seems like a waste.

I like you wiz, but you are wrong on this point. Before solo at lvl 40ish, Puella could twist three dots and a snare. Now, with two songs, puella is down to a snare and one dot, or two dots without the snare. While two dots is way way way better than one, and I could always just have selos going, it is still a nerf on soloing to take away my control of the monsters runnign with snare.

Now, the nerf to soloing wouldnt be so bad, if it was coupled with an increase to grouping ability. But as it stands, grouping ability has also been slightly nerfed, four buffs to two buffs.

If you take away part of a classes solo ability, and take away part of a classes group ability, what have you left them with?
 
Since this thread has degenerated into uselessness with the mass of "I want to change class SAD", I'm locking it.
