Bard AoE Spells

Just got my level 38 Chant of Flame and took it for a test run. Does this spell not have an area effect anymore? I could only get it to hit one mob at a time and they were packed in real tight.

Actually, after level 40 is when they get all of their options. The way dots work on this game is very good, even if it is not as over powered as it was on live.

Thanks for the info and encouragement. I'm glad you posted before I gave the Bard gear to an alt. Even though he wasn't hitting multiple mobs he was bringing down the single mobs very fast, which does make for some interesting possibilities.

Bards can be some very impressive soloers. I seemed to find when i kited on my bard that he could take down groups of 4+ mobs yes but the risk was pretty great. However if I focused all my dots on a single mob it yielded more experience over all due the faster pace

Dude- wait till you get Brusco's Arrogant Bellow at 39. Then you'll be rockin! My bard does 284hp/tick with a basic wood flute and his Wind skill maxed, and Brusco's always goes off 2x at the beginning, so you can start off hitting a mob for 568hp. No need to kite anymore, I can almost solo Giants. (Need a little help from my Cleric dual since Giants tend to resist a bit). You generally have to wait until the mob is below 50%hp to cast it in group because it'll steal aggro from a MT around the same level. :)

I'm not sure what you mean by this but the way you phrased this sounds like you are confused about how the taunt skill works. When you successfully taunt a mob, you go to the top of it's aggro list. The server uses some number system to keep track of aggro that players aren't privy to, but taunt gives you (top aggro+ 1) aggro on the mob. Maxed taunt doesn't have anything to do with keeping aggro per se, it's instead used to regain aggro if you lose it.

Yeah- I realized my error right after posting it. I did mean to say steal aggro from the MT.

The "Taunt maxed" part was from an earlier version of that sentence I forgot to erase :)
