Bandit heads!

Holy moley this quest is a toughy. My rogue has started his 4th rogue quest, which requires you to find 10 bandit heads. No probelm I went out, and started killing bandits in first WBl, then NBL. It turns out that, even on the elite bandits, the drop rate is rarer than 1 in 20. With the slow respawn rate, and the very limited amount of bandits, I find this to be really really too rare for a newbie quest.

Perhaps the drop rate could be tweaked a bit? I dont think it will be put in in time to benefit me, cause I'm dedicated enough to waste the next 10+ hours for this newbie quest, but I know a lot of people wouldn't be.

Funny side note, the quest giver (The human newport rogue trainer) said "very few people complete this quest" or some such..and now i know why! ;)
 
The other problem with increasing the drop rate of these heads is.. they are used in another quest (newport gate neck quest) and it gives you two bounty tokens instead of just 1 like the gnoll teeth.
 
Indeed. There have been times where I'll be hunting the bandits for the heads and get nothing for an hour straight, and then another day doing the same thing I'll get 6 in the first 10 kills.
 
I just did this quest for the second time on my rogue (already had the rogue hood from a long time ago, but the quest giver wouldnt give me the knife quest till I did the whole thing again). Actually seemed to me that the drop rate was better than before. Maybe the drop rate hasnt changed, but this time through it only took me about an hour and a half clearing both wbl camps and some of the bandits in nbl to get the 10 heads.
 
Bandit heads

I just started this quest about an hour before the server crashed. if you can post the location of the bandit camps that would help i'm wandering all over looking for them. ive been updating the wiki for this quest also http://www.angrygamer.net/sodwiki/index.php?title=Rogue_Guild please add any information that you already know. i did find the house in the NW corner of NBL with the 3 elites in there con'd red and yellow to my 14 rogue.

I did find one roaming bandit east of that same house near some other he con'd blue so i took him out and he dropped a head my first try! also there was a brigand camp in WBL running east along the river. wasnt sure if brigands could possibly drop a head cleared it and got nothing. any help will be appreciated.
 
I don't know the Northern Badlands locations, but here is a map of the Western Badlands and locales.

Bandit locations:
#3 Bandit Ridge (Just before you head up the hill to #3, there are 2 bandits at the base of the mountain. And just a smidge northeast of the camp down the hill is another grouping of Bandits)
#6 Bandit Farm
#24 Bandit Camp

There are a group of wandering bandits North between locations #2 and #3 along the mountain. But becareful as a hill giant can be found wandering near abouts there as well.

There is also a Bandit ridge just a wee run East from #18 near the tops of the mountain.

There is also two bandit highwayman just a short run NW from #24 on the road.

And yes, brigands do drop heads.

Boxes

#3 on your map is a footpad camp where I had 10 heads dropin 30-45 min. I single pulled here at lvl 12. Becareful of the named footpad though, she might be a bit of an undercon.
