Backstab(double, triple)

I think innate double and triple backstab should be implemented (perhaps at specific levels).

Wiz mentioned in a post that "You don't. As it is, even with a plain x5, rogues deal the most damage in melee (This is true and tested) so it'd get ridiculous if you got double stab too." (1)

However with a % chance of 1% for double backstab and .5% for triple backstab you'd be looking at only a 2% increase in overall damage(numbers could be lowered even further to only increase overall averaege damage by 1% or less). Similar to ultimate and primal blasts but with backstab.

Wiz wrote "You are equalizing "big flashy numbers" to high DPS without actually analyzing them. I could give wizards a x100 SUPER BLAST that only kicks in every ten thousandth nuke, and the dps increase would be 1%." (2)

Same idea as with these super blasts, but with double and triple backstab. Small chance to land and thus a small overall average dps increase, but it would be soooo neat. (Maybe other rogues don't feel this way, I haven't discussed it with any?)

Perhaps this would just require too much work on the part of the staff, and if so I'd understand that. It was just be soooo fun seeing a double or triple crit backstab once in a full moon.

Did I mention how cool it would be too see a double or triple backstab even if it occurred so little that it only increased your overall average damage by 1% or less?

Should have mentioned I haven't played a rogue here past level low level; theres a rogue double backstab tome you say? Well thats definitely something to look forward too.

if you collect all the rog/brd illusion masks then kill the Bounty Hunter in Newport your /s 4 changes to a double backstab stance with the same stamina drain.


srsly tho, don't see it happening, rogues are already pretty comfortably seated in the melee DPS heirarchy, and cosmetic changes would just take time away from developing/debugging new content, and answering the many many petitions that staff has to sift through all the time.

Not sayin it's a bad idea, just sayin it ain't gonna happen

Alright lol thanks for the fast replies. Guess I should level to 65 first and see whats up. Edited original post to read innate so that maybe lower level rogues(by lower level i mean non-tome if what Dimmi says is correct) can get a "cosmetic change" at some point in the future.

With the backstab AAs and the way backstab works, it's got plenty of love. The problem with adding double or triple backstab is that later on in the game most people DO do their tomes, and with that and some of the buffs and higher end piercers, you'd have to live in /s 5 to survive. As is, I get nervous if I fail 2 or more evades...really nervous.
 
It sounds like it would create alot of problems trying to implement this, I guess no flashy strings of numbers.
