I've always had fond memories of EQ. Never made it past lvl 32 on my ranger who's name escapes me now so many years later. I originally bought the game thinking it was your regular run of the mill multiplayer game but was I wrong. Annoyed at first but once I tried it out it was awesome. I stopped playing because of RL junk and because leveling around 32 was just evil. Left and played a little bit of Star Wars Galaxies and quit that after a few months. Now I play WoW and have been for about 2 years now. I love the game but I've always been a little annoyed that my character's actions don't really effect the game. This kind of annoys me and I also understand it would be hard for an mmo to do but I guess I just like characters to really matter. Maybe this comes from my many hours playing DnD. Who knows. I was talking with a friend and new employee at work last night and I don't remember how we got on the subject but he mentioned this site ( well actually he forgot the name but knew it was Shards of D...something. I googled it. ), and how the players actually play a much larger and much more important roll and that the things we all do effects this game. I was instantly driven to find out what this was all about. So far I'm pretty pleased, except I discovered when I quit playing all I had was EQ trilogy :(. Now all I need is to wait for Amazon to ship me my EQ goodness so when that happens, hopefully in 2 days, I can see you all in the game. Now to think of a name and class. Hmmmm.
