I noticed that the patch notes mentioned "artifact" items...what's this mean?

..and pending lore. what is that, as well.

Containers can now be LORE, ARTIFACT and PENDING LORE.
- Items can now be ARTIFACT.

An artifact is an item that can only be acquired once, ever. 99% of players will never see one.

Pending Lore was a construct used by EQ Live team whereby they could anticipate their lack of planning.

In other words, they flagged something as that when they discovered a boo-boo and they needed to make a non-lore item into a lore item. This was their way of letting folks know they needed to get rid of any extras of the item someone might have had, because they were at some point in the future, going to NUKE duplicates on a char and would not, per typical live behaviour, not be giving any reimbursements.

Frankly, I see like *zero* need for such a bandaid on WR.

On Live, Artifact items were rarely given out during major storyline events.
