Arg, patcher stuck...

Okay, I just installed vista. Before this SoD ran fine.
I had to reinstall EQ just to get the patcher to do anything at all. Now it just gets stuck at files.txt no matter what I do. My anti virus and firewall is off, I tried deleting it and I tried replacing it. I tried to manually download the patch, I tried restarting and I tried repatch all. Nothing seems to be working...

Please help? :(
 
what the problem is, is the patcher is trying to overwrite a file (files.txt) that it's currently using since windows protects many files while they're in use which prevents them from being overwritten, how to fix it, basically you can't the patcher needs to be changed unless it is changed there's going to be alot of people with this problem, you can also try updating using the manual patch and then running the game with out the patcher, which i don't specifically remember the method off hand yet. but look it up it should be on the forums somewhere

EDIT, read a topic that was started yesterday with the same heading, it has a the updated files.txt
