anyone running SoD on Vista64 or Windows 7 Beta 64?

Hi everyone. This is a roll call to any people using the above mentioned OS to run the game.

I have got a weird performance problem when dual clienting, where sometimes I need to tab between the 2 windows multiple times before I get an acceptable framerate. Prior to using the new Windows 7 Beta 64, I was using Vista 64 and had the same strange issue.

I have never tried this on XP64 (but i might give it a shot soon), so I cant really flag it as a 64 Bit issue. All i know is i never had this kind of trouble on Vista Home Premium 32, and it worked amazing in Windows XP 32.

Just as a side note: The Hardware remained unchanged through all these OS changes.

So yeah, if you:

a.) are experiencing the same problems on the mentioned OS
b.) are dualclienting fine on the mentioned OS
c.) have any other ideas of how to fix this
d.) know exactly what the problem is
e.) have otherwise useful input to the matter

Please let me know.
Thanks a bunch
Iance

Try running it as adminisrator (right click on the sod patcher executable, go to compatability, and select "Run this program as an administrator", then try again

i run vista x64 and aside from the problem with combad in 1st person mode i havent seen any thing unusual.

I run Vista 64 and have no problems what-so-ever that are vista related. I have the model bug but that is my nvidia card.

I'm running Vista x64. I have the nvidia driver problems mentioned, but other than that seems to work ok.

No problems to speak of. Everything seems to be working fine. There were some new Nvidia drivers released on 1.29.09 that you might check out. Vast improvements across the board for a lot of games with the update.

I ran both Vista x64 and Win7 x64 without issues.

a.) Both work fine for me, the only issue is the TnL issue that is a bug in our client (causes the client to use software rendering instead of hardware on certain graphics cards)
b.) Yes, I also use eqplaynice
c.) Use EQPlayNice if you aren't
d.) no
e.) I'll be writing a post on how to force TnL in our client soon which may help speed things up if you aren't getting it now (dbg.txt will tell you).
