Any chance to get faction back?

We were buffing in South Newport and a member of the group killed a Newport Guardsman. Is there any chance of getting my faction back to where it was before, please? I would never hurt my beloved Newport citizens...

They won't even let me do the Arcane Staff quest to increase my standings .

I'm a shaman trying to do a caster quest, I thought this was the reason. I'll try getting an illusion, though.

As in Iksar shaman I found bear form to be usefull in newport.

You could try to buy/camp an Ambassador's Writ, it allows you to cast alliance to bump up your faction a bit. From what I understand it's a rare drop of a very rare spawn though.
