another idea?

im not sure if this is a client thing or not. but if you could make players rampage....

imagine a mob that would cast a debuff on someone that made them Rampage on others around them.. (something Cureable or short term that would cause that person to sit out untill cured like Ansaag's Debuff)

To prevent tanks from getting it maybe make the SK's Hate aggro buff(voice of Kaezul?) non stackable with it (but this would override the debuff or take precedence) Then that way with such a long recast timer only one person could have it on (the tank)..

so....? Thoughts? is it possible?

I dont entirely understand the point though?

You are trying to provide a reason players need to back out of combat to prevent hurting their allies? Or just giving them some extra DPS vs multiple mobs?

Both of these can and have been accomplished through other means. Im not saying there is anything bad or wrong with this I just don't quite understand the reason devs would want to add it.
 
^^^ yeah the mechanics would do it diferently for the sake of programing. But I agree effects like that are cool. 1 fight that comes to mind is Valstraz (SP) in WoW
 
I'm going to go out on a limb and say mechanics which make a player lose control of their character without a mechanic which allow that player to avoid it by an execution of appropriate performance sucks.
 
The mechanic would be so it would hit players around him. say your rogue gets the debuff he would then rampage on your monk, so the rogue would then back out untill cured. Think of aansaag where you use the INTENDED strat. get the debuff that heals aansaag you stop attack back out wait for cure go back in. same thing but it would hurt players
