Another Problem with MQ evil route

I am currently stuck on the evil route of the main quest., possibly due to a bug. Taroceth asked me to hand four runes to the spectres of corruption, but he only gave me one rune to hand in. I expected the spectres to hand them back to me, but when I went to do it he just took it and I got a message saying I have spread corruption or something like that. I went back to taroceth and he congratulated me gave me exp, but wouldnt give me more runes. Now when I hail him he just says the same thing over and over again about how I spread corruption. I am not really clear as to what I should do about this, but I clearly cant move on in the quest. Any help would be appreciated
 
You go back to SoS and talk to the seeker there. When I did it he had given me 4 runes but I could only give one to the spectres and he was pleased enough with it.
