Another Patcher question ;(

Hi guys,
Im having a really tiresome problem with the patcher. Every single time i open it i have to browse for my EQ directory 3 times in a row, it wont work otherwise. Whats more, it prompts me to do it. I DL the files from SOD and got them in the same directory as my EQ (G:\Archivos de Programa \Everquest) and it still asks me to do it everytime. Ive asked around in my guild and noone has this happen to them, so i thought id ask here. Any ideas?

There's a file called "patchset.txt" make sure that file is NOT read only ... OR ... delete it, run the patcher, find your directory/eqgame.exe and save it. It's possible something is screwy with that file. That is the key.
 
well i tried doing that but it didnt solve the issue. Just out of pure dumb luck i decided to move the the folder just to G:\Everquest , and wouldnt u know it, it fixed itself. im histerical now :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol:
 
I'm having the same problem. I tried moving the game folder, tried deleting patchset etc. Nothing seems to help.
Any other ideas? Nothing is read-only.

I run sodpatcher.exe. Sodbin.exe has the same problem, does the exact same thing for me.
Rebooting didn't help. Reinstalling the patcher didn't help either :(

Another thing... what is this portal system I see mentioned on the front page for patcher message? I can't find any info on it in tome of knowledge or by searching for "portal system" or the like.

I assume that's where all your game files truely are? If not move it to the right partition and in the same installed dir as the EQClient.
If that's where you've got it, it should be working without issue. Obviously make sure that file isn't read only as well.

But here's what mine looks like:

Yeah, it's the proper directory. I moved it there from D:\games\sod.
Nobody else is having this problem, eh?
Seems really odd.
