Hello all!

My wife and I played EQ for about 4 years and have played just about every MMORPG there is out there. I am excited about SoD! Hopefully when the wife sees me having fun she will want to play too and I can tear her away from WoW.

I am downloading Underfoot from Steam as I type. Hopefully I can get in tomorrow and start some fun!

I am curious about this Steam download. Will it install automatically when it gets done downloading? I'll be asleep in bed by the time it gets done downloading.

I guess that's ok? I just don't want to try to "play" and let it patch itself through that company that runs the regular game? /wink wink

I know always launch from the SODPatcher but I just want to know for sure when to stop messing with it and run the patcher.
 
It matters not! Whatever the live patcher does to you our patcher makes it kosher with SoD. The only problems we have had with the steam install is people being unsure where Steam puts the install. It is hidden in the steam directory somewhere - so you have to direct the SoD Patcher to it there.

I just recently re-bought the game from Steam and have 2 pieces of advice:

(1) Go find the folder under "steamapps" or something and MOVE IT AWAY. Put it somewhere in a folder that doesn't say "steam" anywhere. THEN point the patcher to it.

(2) Re-install. No, seriously. I found myself missing a few key files from my Steam install that showed up the second time I downloaded/installed it. Things like the bothunder files (used for Thazeran's Tower)... things you'll want. At least then you'll have a second download of the files to go get the ones you'll find you've missed (in my case, thaz files, chr files for Blackburrow, and files for The Arena).
 
hmm.... I did notice that all the Gnolls in Blackburrow are Barbarians. Is that because of this?

So I can just move the install and re-point the patcher and repatch? Or are you saying I have to re-install from steam?
