Another mouse issue thread!

Hey guys,

I hate to post another thread about this, but I swear I've tried everything and haven't been able to fix my mouse. I am trying to come back to SoD after a break of several years. I believe I had fixed this issue before, but I can't for the life of me remember how.

I am running the game in windowed mode, without EQW. The game runs better in full-screen, but I would like to box and browse the web and so on. It doesn't seem to matter whether I box or not, I get these issues either way.

MY SYSTEM SPECS

GIGABYTE LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard
Intel Core i3-2100 Sandy Bridge 3.1GHz LGA 1155 65W Dual-Core Desktop Processor
Crucial M4 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive
G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3
EVGA GeForce GTX 660Ti 1024MB GDDR5 Graphics Card
SILVERSTONE Strider Essential series ST60F-ES 600W ATX12V
Windows 7 Professional
Razer Naga Mouse / Razer Deathadder Mouse
Razer Blackwidow Ultimate Keyboard
Titanium EQ Client (physical, not downloaded)

THE SYMPTOMS

The x-axis of my mouse is far less sensitive than the y-axis. So when I try to use mouse look to turn, I wobble up and down crazily while barely turning at all.

My mouse seems way more sensitive in general. It's hard to do simple things like open a backpack and vendor some junk. It's near impossible to mem a spell by right clicking an empty gem.

I levitate faster than I should. I bob up and down really quickly, instead of that nice and controlled levitate I am used to.

THINGS THAT ARE NOT SYMPTOMS

I don't seem to be having problems with my load screen like some people have reported. My character model looks normal, and the rotating speed of the camera seems normal.

I don't run at super speed. My run speed seems normal.

I don't log out at super speed. It takes exactly as long as it should for me to log out.

WHAT I HAVE TRIED

I've tried EQPlayNice (the version on the SoD site).

I've tried binding the game to each of my processors, one at a time (using the SoD client).

I've tried maxing out the graphics settings via my GPU software. I couldn't find an option to limit frame rate.

I've tried using my mouse software to tweak the x and y axis sensitivities individually. This works to a certain extent, but makes moving the mouse around pretty non-intuitive.

I've tried to set the priority of the games process to low. I was unable to do this, getting an access denied error.

I've tried a combination of all of these, some of these and none of these.

IN CONCLUSION

Please help me. I don't want to be a 'keyboard turner'. I don't want to dread going to the vendor. I want to mem spells with the greatest of ease. I want to enjoy this wonderful game.

TL;DR: The x-axis of my mouse is not sensitive enough. I levitate too fast. I've tried most if not all of the suggestions in these forums. Help!

Assuming that you have maxed your mouse sensitivity within EQ itself(alt+o in the mouse tab), EQplaynice should fix any issues with low sensitivity. Did you run EQplaynice as admin?

That fixed it! Thank you so much odizzido2. After all the frustration, the first thing I tried was indeed what I needed. I just didn't run EQPlayNice as administrator.

So, my message for the future:

If EQPlayNice doesn't seem to do anything at all, try running it as administrator.

Thanks again!

this is a fairly old thread but i just spent an hour googling and searching thread after thread here and on the eq emu forums for the solution to this problem while seeing many threads go unanswered on this same problem. what odizzido2 suggested works perfect, so i wanted to say thank you and bump this thread for anyone else still suffering from this issue!
