After using SOD patcher, I get an error

The error I am getting is "this application has failed to start because dpvs.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix the problem"

In addition when I click the SOD patcher, and it wants me to located a folder, I lead it to the EQ folder and it doesn't seem to accept that. I end up having to press cancel, then the patcher comes up saying to patch and run. It does, then gives me the error above.

When setting up the game you could try creating a new folder called SoD or Shards of Dalaya and browsing to that folder instead.

As for the other dll error, the first thing I would try is running the patcher and going to advanced > repatch all. If that doesn't work, try downloading the dll file and putting it in your game folder (you can download it here).

Not that I believe it's a true fix, but someone mentioned having this problem a few weeks back and said that if they deselected using EQWindows it worked. You could always try that as a last resort. :shrug: :keke:
 
I tried creating the folder and sending it to browse there, but it did the same thing. I end up pressing cancel then the patcher loads up. I downloaded the .dll file, but not sure where to put it.

Maybe somehow I set up the game files wrong? I did exactly how the website instructions stated. One thing the instructions said was you could extract the release folder anywhere, so I put it on my desktop. Not sure that makes a difference anyhow since you direct it somewhere.

Is this .dll file part of a new version of DirectX or something I may need a software upgrade for?

Okay I have one more question before I use the fresh install instructions. I got past my earlier .dll error, now I get a "no 3d devices found". I thought maybe this would be a simple fix, so i thought I would ask before redoing everything.
