After an houre of reading Tech support.. still having problems (detailed)

Let me start off by saying.

I have Titanium. I've been playing EQEmu for 2 years now with no problems. I very often run 6 boxes (or up to 12, From same comp) on max graphics with max resolution with no problems. So I know my computer can run this game just fine.

On my first attempt at installing SoD, I had problems so I figured I'd completely uninstall EQtitanium, delete all the old files, and start with a fresh install, following the Setup instructions at this thread http://forum.shardsofdalaya.com/showthread.php?t=13538

First thing I noticed is when I DL SoD patcher, I do not DL a folder called "Release" with SoDpatcher and Sodbin in it. It simply makes me DL Sodpatcher.exe. Is it supposed to be just that file? Also note, when I open the patcher, it looks nothing like the image shown in the above thread, there is no advanced tab. It's version 1.80 so I just assume the patcher is a newer version than the one posted in the instructions thread.

Anyhow. Fresh install of Titanium. I put the Sodpatcher in my game directory and run it. It patches the game, so far so good.

After that, the EQ start up screen loads, and has me choose my graphic options. I turn on all the Luclin models, and put the resolution to 1280x1024, left the texture quality no medium, and turned all the other options on.

I log in, and log into the server. I have no idea what I'm staring at when the game is loading.. all I see is grey triangles and the words "Shards of" but the rest is cut off. I get to character select.. I can't see my character, just extremely buggy graphics. This was without running EQwindows, as I've never had to use it before. So I try again, using EQW. This time I can see my character, but he randomly glitches out as he is spinning, making graphics go all over the place. Choosing enter world does nothing, until it crashes.

EQ has detected that your client may have crashed, etc.

So I'm going to try again, using all the defaults. No luclin modes, default resolution etc. Soon as I load into char select I get a box that says "Error, String not found: (3340)" I can choose "I agree" or "I do not agree" lol. Choosing either crashes EQ

Here's the end of my DBG.TXT

I have no idea what any of that means, but I went ahead and followed the suggestions in the 5e error thread. Char select is still really laggy and crashes when I attempt to log in. I was able to create a character and log in for a bit before I re-installed titanium, but the grahpics were way messed up, now I can't log in at all.

I'm completely at a loss as to why I can't get this to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

That thread is old, the new patcher is just one file.

Try checking the "Bind Affinity to Processor" checkbox. You should also try both with and without the "Use EQW" checkbox checked.

Wow, binding affinity seemed to work.

Only now I have no sound in the game.. I can play on max everything now but my sound dissapeared. Sound is TRUE in my eqclient, it's selected in the OPTIONS and it's volume is up in Alt+O in game.. hrmm.. running Vista 64 on a quad core if that helps.

Also have another random question.

When I played EQemu, and boxed frequently, I simply ran EQ in windowed mode (not EQ windows, alt+enter), and when I dragged my mouse outside of the game window, it came out of it, like I could just go down to my taskbar.. now I can't, the game won't release my mouse unless I hit my windows key. Any fix to this?

And any way to get the Pre-SoD patched UI? UI is way different from EQ Emu, and I liked that one way more. It's just picky things nothing serious but figured it was worth asking.
