Aegis of Magic

Is there any chance this spell could be modified to the same stacking line as the cleric self only buffs (Bulwark etc). I almost never get to use it due to having buffs from SHM / DRU on, it seems appropriate to me that int casters should beable to bolster their magic protection and hit points moderatley on their own line of buffs. This is also a rare spell (yes it has the same chance as the others but 4x as many people want it) so instead of just being a spell book filler it would actually be really desirable.

Since all spells have the same chance to drop, and this spell is common to all int casters, it's my opinion that this is probably the single most sought after spell in SoD. It's a shame that the few who have it get to use it so rarely :(

I totally agree. I never get to cast it, unless I have to self buff myself (which Is very rarely).

I don't think giving casters another self buff that stacks is a good idea (I see no reason for that, and don't think they'll want to "waste" another spell slot ;)). But what about giving Aegis of Magic higher HP/AC/SvM than WoN, or even Focus, so that casters chose it over other buffs in some situations.

What on earth could possibly be wrong with giving the classes with the lowest hp/ac another hp/ac buff? As it is now, most fully buffed int casters will have the same hp as an equally equiped unbuffed melee class. As for a 'saving a spell slot'... :brow:

Saving buff slots is actually a major issue at the top end because you can only have 15.

On my ranger, I have to decide which buff I'm gonna click off, I don't have room for everything. On my mage it's an entirely diff story. I could make room for a self hp/ac buff and never bat an eye. GoE? click it off. CotP? LOL. EotW? What do I need more dex/agi for, if the mob turns on me I'm toast before anyone can even notice. RBoW? I'm not meleeing, I don't need a weapon proc. If Aegis stacked with shm/dru hp buffs, the int casters would find a way to make room for it.

/agree with Garluk. My ranger has to click usually 2-3 buffs that he would otherwise like to use, whereas my Shammy can be "fully buffed" and have 3-4 slots open.

"another"... :?

Keep in mind that some classes need more kinds of buffs than others. Silk casters definitely need fewer than hybrids, for example.

When I play my mage I'm usually clicking off haste, DS, and resists(resists last, because I think they are slightly more important than the others), whereas my shaman is usually always full. I find my mage usually has alot of buff slots open, and my shaman is usually quite tight for buff slots on raids.
