Adventuring Bands and Lost Exp Question

Disclaimer: I've not played with adventuring bands as of yet.

Just a question out of curiosity. I've read the posts about a band's member grinding out 3 AA's and then for others to log in and only have 1 AA + a bit more. I seem to remember Wiz posting in the beginning of bands that the exp was coming in chunks, and not all at once. I wonder, has anyone who experienced the above scenario left the 1 AA'd toon logged in for an extended period of time to see whether he kept getting more exp over time (i.e. in chunks)? Just a thought while I was at work.

nah, you get all xp at once when you log on, or if doing xp and dinged, you had to zone to get xp in the next lvl.

Yeah, I've gotten all my exp (although I've not been doing AAs). I linked a Barbarian Shaman(Lv1) and Dark Elf Wizard (Lv2). I played the Shaman from 1 to 5. When I got on the Wizard, he dinged 3. I killed a moss snake and he dinged 4. I killed another moss snake and he dinged 5. I showed no exp in 5. I expected to be pretty close to 6. I zoned and showed full exp in 5. I went to a different zone, killed a spider and dinged 6.

So, I got it all, but it may not be exactly how you expect.

I was told if I logged in, camped, logged in, camped, etc. I would have dinged each time I logged in, until my levels caught up with my exp.

It appears to work with levels but not AA's.
You ding, and sit at 0% until the next exp change (camp, kill a mob, etc). Then you ding again.

However, with AA's, it doesn't appear to work.

You log in, receive a message of exp (largest I've seen so far is 850k)'.
You ping, once.
Your exp seemingly randomly ends up somewhere in the next ping cycle.
Zoning, killing another mob, etc. does not ping again.

It almost seems like its a full aa +/- a few percent.
Like if you were at ~50% of an AA, you ping, end up at 50% of the next AA but go no further.

i'm going to pay off a character's XP debt today to see how much XP shes gotten... Its atleas 3 AAs from a level 65... what should i document or show for this?

Yeah,t here is a problem with AAs that is giving me quite a headache, I'm working on it, all I can recommend right now is logging in characters more often.

Just FYI, I fought on my char from level 2 to level 5, my brother got on his char today and dinged from 1 to 12. So, you may want to log in more often with regular levels too..., at least if you don't want to stand around for 10 hours nuking yourself to get your skill up.

lol ive done that so many times with underused skills on classes, Aisling's divination still is only around 150ish

Great news that with levels you do eventually get all your exp. I have a mob of lvl 1s that I've linked but been afraid to try and possibly mess them up (think creating toons on a P4 Celeron, 256mb ram, and a GeForce3..x10 toons...logging on, "the dreaming"...takes a looooong time). Even with the bugs, this is the absolute best idea I've ever run across in any RPG. Wiz, you are quite simply the most brilliant person ever...ok, maybe that's too much, but this is a wicked cool idea.

I don't even want to think about the grammar mistakes in that paragraph. I was so good at grammar while I was in college...was...past tense...<sighs>.

word. well, please make if terribly publicly known if this ends up getting fixed. And if my level 57 who has been racking up AAXP from an adventuring band would be useful as a test, i'll log what happens when i pay off her rez debt.
