Adjusting Gamma Crashes PC

Recently, I was having problems with the gamma slider having no effect at all. Now that I realized that I had no video card drivers, I installed them . The problem is that now when I try to adjust the gamma, it being unbearably bright, my whole computer locks up. Nothing works. windows key, alt-tab, ctrl-alt-delete. I can only hold the power button. Any help would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks in advance
 
what video card are you using? and when u installed driver did u use originasl cd or did you get up to date driver
 
I have found that EQWindows can sometimes mess with Gamma, espeshaly with newer Video Cards. Try playing without EQWindows and adjusting the Gamma in game.
If you are already not useing EQW then im sorry, dont know what the problem might be.
